  • Patent number: 4026066
Abstract: An optical illusion-producing rotating toy includes a rectangular support housing and a generally cylindrical rotatable housing mounted on the support housing for free rotation about a vertical axis. The rotatable housing has at least two three-dimensional display areas, chambers of compartments angularly disposed about the axis. An axis extension of the rotatable housing projects beyond the support housing for gripping to impart rotation of the rotatable housing. The rotatable housing is provided with a resilient pair of engageable fingers proximate the support housing, and a pair of selection latching members are provided on the support housing each of which has a portion which may be selectively moved for engaging one of the fingers to almost instantaneously stop the rotation of the rotatable housing in a predetermined position. This brings into view one of the display areas at a fixed point of observation.

  • Patent number: 3999822
Abstract: A cabinet table includes a center chest which has a pair of substantially vertical sidewalls, a table top mounted on the chest which has a portion overhanging at least one of the side walls and a substantially semi-circular top plate which is pivotably attachable to the support plate, and movable from a retracted position between the portion of the table top overhanging one of the side walls and the support plate of the bracket member to an extended position displaced by about 180.degree. from the retracted position. The top surfaces of the portion overhanging at least one of the side walls and the semi-circular top plate are substantially defined by a plane in that extended position of the top plate.

  • Patent number: 3997059
Abstract: A garment device for installation in a clothes closet has a drive and support assembly located between joints above the closet ceiling, the assembly including a switch controlled electric motor, a gear reduction box, a drive shaft rotatably carried in a sleeve member attached to the assembly. The assembly also includes a thrust bearing to support the shaft. The shaft extends through the ceiling into the closet and has a circular garment rack comprising a circular notched member for receiving garment hangers connected by spokes to a hub mounted on the end of the shaft. A rotatable shelf may also be attached to the shaft above the garment rack.

  • Patent number: 3993375
Abstract: A data storage and retrieval file having a spoked wheel frame rotatably supported upon a post and carrying an annular data storage pan unit comprising a plurality of separable sections supported upon the spokes. A chain driven sprocket rotatably supported upon the post transmits its rotation through a floating friction slip plate clutch to the wheel frame, the load of the frame being supported upon a collar of the post, and pressure applying screws being carried by the frame are employed for adjusting the slipping point of the clutch plates.

  • Patent number: 3982800
Abstract: Rotary storage unit carries outward lugs. Support surface carries an oblong plastic ring surrounding lug area. Ring is supported adjacent ends of major diameter only. Ring and lugs are dimensioned to forcibly interengage adjacent minor diameter of the ring, distorting the ring. Ring is recessed at ends of minor diameter so that lugs snap into recesses when unit is moved into certain rotary position. This snap engagement serves as a catch for holding the unit in "closed" position.

  • Patent number: 3981086
Abstract: A teaching carrel comprising a desk having a cover movable to a down position wherein the top thereof provides a first learning area and to an open position wherein the underside thereof and the exposed desk top comprise, respectively, second and third learning areas. A manually rotatable drum having learning aids is included in the desk with the drum having a window for access to the drum. Various demonstration surfaces can be affixed to the second and third learning areas to demountably receive the learning aids. As the learner progresses, the cover is pivoted down whereby the first learning area and hence the carrel resemble the conventional desk.

  • Patent number: 3961830
Abstract: Display device for merchandise. There is provided a plurality of rectangular boxes each having a sight window at one side thereof and each provided with an end opening for introducing merchandise into said box and withdrawing same therefrom. Each of said boxes has a projecting vertically aligned tongue at one corner thereof and projecting means defining a groove at a diagonally opposite corner thereof. A plurality of such boxes may be assembled together with the tongue of one being placed in the groove of another to provide a horizontal grouping of display units as desired. Same are then stacked vertically upon a base plate, preferably closed at the top with a cover plate and connected together by vertical tie rods extending between the base plate and the cover plate.
