Activated By Manually Pushing The Ejecting Mechanism Patents (Class 312/9.16)
  • Patent number: 7178885
Abstract: A hand-held disc storage, deployment and retrieval device includes a housing defining an interior cavity adapted to store a media disc therein. A manually-actuated slider is disposed within the interior cavity and movable along guide tracks formed in the housing between a disc deployment position and a disc retrieval position. A manually-actuated lever mechanism is operably connected to the slider for deploying and retrieving the disc from the housing. Disc tracks and a ramp are formed in the housing for guiding the disc into and out of the interior cavity. Multiple housings may be interlocked in stacking relationship to one another. The disc may also be locked within the housing, or a case provided for locking multiple housings and discs to one another within the case.

  • Patent number: 6533128
Abstract: The CD box holder comprises a substantially flat base plate. A shelf is formed at the bottom to vertically support the CD box. At the top a push panel in combination with a locking panel are rotatably mounted. To utilize the Invention, the bottom edge of the CD box is inserted on the shelf and the top is pushed into the holder until it is held securely in place by the locking panel. To remove the CD box, the locking panel is rotated up and the push panel pushes the CD box out from the holder.

  • Patent number: 6450331
Abstract: The disc carrying case includes a housing defining a chamber in which the disc is stored. An elongated slot provides access to the chamber, such that the disc moves edgewise through the slot when it is transferred into and out of the chamber. A pair of tracks aligned with the slot serve to support the disc within the chamber by only the outer rim thereof. Furthermore, a spring biased catch located within the chamber automatically projects into the mounting hole of the disc, when the disc has been sufficiently inserted into the chamber, to prevent relative edgewise movement of the disc. While the disc is held by the catch, an ejector engages the outer edge of the disc and exerts a yieldable ejection bias thereagainst. Removal of the catch from the mounting hole is caused by actuation of a release mechanism. Such removal of the catch permits the ejector to urge the disc out of the chamber.

  • Patent number: 6318550
Abstract: A compact disc container having a compact disc carrier pivotally mounted within a housing. The carrier is spring biased outwardly from a side of the housing and is held in a closed, stored position within the housing by a finger activated latch. The container can be manipulated by one hand and the compact disc is fully exposed-when the carrier is pivoted to the open position. A title/cover page can be viewable from the top of the container, and a label can be viewable from a side of the container. The compact disc container is intended to replace the traditional compact disc case having the disc packaged therein when purchased at the store.

  • Patent number: 6234306
Abstract: An apparatus for the storage of disc sound and/or data carriers having a substantially rectangular flat housing that defines a receiving space that is accessible through a slot in one side of the housing. The housing also includes mutually oppositely disposed guide elements which receive a disc inserted through the slot and which keep it spaced from the housing surfaces. An ejection mechanism is mounted in the housing that includes a pivotally mounted lever arrangement. The ejection mechanism urges the disc through the slot such that it extends beyond the housing and may be grasped by a user. A braking and guide strip arrangement is provided in the flat housing adjacent to the slot opening. The strip arrangement extends over the width of the slot opening and includes at least two mutually and oppositely disposed strips. The spacing of the opposing strips is such that the center region of the slot opening has a spacing that is greater than the thickness of the disc.
