For ruggedization a bracing strap is fixed to, and extends between, two sides of the frame and is welded to a lead wire extending from the pinch. Strength is enhanced if two lead wires extend from the pinch, and the bracing strap is welded to both. Advantageously the two lead wires are sides of a U-shaped wire such as a “U-pin”. Further stabilization may be achieved by using braces attached to both of the top and bottom frames and extended out against surrounding parts of the bulb.

Abstract: Apparatus and associated methods involve an assembly of multiple LED light engines in which a desired number of LED lamps are mounted to a plate that forms a wall of an enclosure. In an illustrative example, three LED light engines may be mounted to a plate that may be slidably installed as a wall of an extruded housing that contains electrical connections from an AC power inlet to each light engine. In various examples, the number and layout arrangement of the LED light engines may be custom selected for a particular application.

Abstract: An ornamental lamp comprises a barrel holder, an LED lamp set and a lamp shade. The barrel holder includes an opening, two electric connecting ports communicating with the opening and two elastic holding struts held in the opening. The elastic holding struts and the inner edge of the opening form a housing space therebetween. The two elastic holding struts are divided by a notch in the middle. The LED lamp set has two conductive pins running through the electric connecting ports to receive electric power. The LED lamp set has a lower edge butting the elastic holding struts. The lamp shade is wedged in the housing space and pushes the elastic holding struts inwards during wedging to bend slightly towards the notch. The bent portion of the elastic holding struts generates an elastic returning force to clamp the lamp shade in a compact manner.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for making a global LED lamp (10) having a transparent globe (14) and a base (12) for connecting to a lamp socket. By wrapping the base (12) in expansive foam tape (38) of Compriband type or similar, prior to inserting it in a neck shaped portion (16) of the globe (14), automatic alignment of the base (12) in the globe neck (16) may be obtained. Further, soft metal strips (36) may be wrapped about the tape (38) prior to wrapping the tape (38) about the base (12). The tape (38) acts as an inflatable cushion, which presses the metal strips (36) towards the base (12) and the globe (14). Improved heat transfer between the globe (14) and the base (12) may thus be obtained.
