  • Patent number: 10218967
Abstract: In order to display 3D images by a parallax barrier method, a display screen and the eyes of a viewer need to have a specific positional relation. An object is to provide a display device with an extended area where the viewer can perceive 3D images with the naked eye. Attention is focused on the position of the viewer with respect to pixels provided in a display device and a mode of a parallax barrier provided between the viewer and the pixels. This leads to a structure in which the position of the viewer with respect to pixels is specified by using an ultrasonic wave to change a mode of a parallax barrier in accordance with the position of the viewer, thereby achieving the above object.

  • Patent number: 6911770
Abstract: A cap can comprise an aperture, and an attenuator may block the aperture during at least one point in time. In one embodiment, the attenuator can include a cover that may be displaced by a spring. In another embodiment, such as an electron gun, may comprise a support cap with an aperture, a displaceable cover that may cover the aperture, and a spring. A material attached to the spring and acting as a fuse may release the spring and expose the aperture after an electrical current blows the “fuse”. In yet another embodiment, a method for using a tube may comprise evacuating the tube while a cover covers an aperture in the support cap of a electron gun that is at least partially in the tube and moving the cover to expose the aperture after the tube is sealed.

Abstract: It is an object of the present invention to provide a display device that is able to display a three-dimensional image without reducing resolution in displaying a two-dimensional image to half, and prevent the device itself from being bulky. This display device is a display device that has a light-emitting device having a plurality of pixels and an optical system at one side of the light-emitting device, where the light-emitting element has two electrodes that both have translucency, light is shielded by the first shield means and light is shielded by the second shield means, and the optical system makes light emitted from one of two adjacent pixels of the plurality of pixels incident into a let eye of a viewer and makes light emitted from the other incident into a right eye of the viewer by controlling a traveling direction of light emitted from the plurality of pixels.

  • Patent number: 6215238
Abstract: A method for manufacturing an electron gun for a cathode ray tube. The method comprises a first step in which a number of securing means are made in a planar element (e.g. plate or strip), a second part in which the securing means are secured to an insulating support rod, a third part in which the insulating support rod-securing means assembly is detached from the planar element, whereafter connections are made to a stack of electrodes to form the electron gun.

  • Patent number: 5568010
Abstract: The deflection coil for a cathode ray tube is secured to the outside of the glass envelope of the tube via a yoke assembly including a yoke clamp having a band which encircles the assembly and is adjusted to securely hold the assembly in place. Dividing the band into sub bands separated by a space along substantially the entire length of the band significantly reduces the stress on the neck of the glass envelope of a cathode ray tube, thereby reducing the incidences of tube failures due to neck cracking.

  • Patent number: 5220240
Abstract: A planar display apparatus with a fluorescent screen formed on the inner surface of a front panel in a planar tube body. An electron gun is disposed at a position deviated in a vertical scanning direction from a region opposite the fluorescent screen, and a vertical deflecting electrode composed of a plurality of parallel electrodes is disposed at an opposite portion relative to the fluorescent screen on the side of a back panel opposed to the front panel of the planar tube body. In a space between the vertical deflecting electrode and the fluorescent screen, there is disposed an electrode structure having at least an electron lens scanning electrode composed of a plurality of parallel electrodes, a splitting electrode for splitting an electron beam from the electron gun into a plurality of beams, a modulating electrode, and horizontal deflection electrodes.

  • Patent number: 5177410
Abstract: An image display device includes comb-shaped horizontal deflection electrodes disposed interleavingly in a first plane with a space therebetween for forming electron beam passages and comb-shaped vertical deflection electrodes disposed interleavingly in a second plane adjacent and parallel to the first plane. The capacitance between the horizontal deflection electrode confronting the vertical deflection electrodes and the capacitance between the horizontal deflection electrode confronting the vertical deflection electrode are made equal to each other. Also, the capacitance of the vertical deflection electrode confronting the horizontal deflection electrodes and the capacitance of the vertical deflection electrode confronting the horizontal deflection electrodes are made equal to each other, whereby the voltage effect induced by the other deflection electrode can be canceled and a good quality image can be obtained.

  • Patent number: 4677341
Abstract: A synchronous scan streaking device comprising a photoelectric layer, an electronic lens, an anode with an aperture, a pair of deflection electrodes, and a phosphor layer arranged in order within a vacuum envelope. A deflection voltage at the same frequency as the repetition rate of the light pulses incident on the phosphor layer to be measured is fed from deflection voltage generation means to the deflection electrodes so as to repetitively generate an enhanced image of the incident light on the phosphor layer. At least one shielding metal structure which is connected to the common potential source is arranged in the space between the deflection electrode plate and the wall of the envelope, and surrounding a deflection electrode plate lead provided to connect the deflection electrode plate through the envelope to the deflection voltage generation means.

  • Patent number: 4330735
Abstract: A beam guide assembly for a flat panel display device includes a plurality of meshes arranged in a spaced parallel relationship. Insulative supports permanently retain the meshes in the spaced relationship. The supports preferably comprises glass rods or beads spaced along the length of the assembly with portions of the meshes embedded therein. The beads are transversely displaced to allow beads of adjacent assemblies to be interleaved in a common aligned column. The beam guide assemblies can readily be fabricated and assembled using automatic and mass production techniques.
