  • Patent number: 9040969
Abstract: The organic electroluminescence display device has a laminated portion on a base substrate. The device may have a cavernous portion formed by exploding a part of the laminated portion in a screening processing. A protective layer is formed to cover a whole surface of a wall defining the cavernous portion. Therefore, substances contained in the air are prevented from contacting to an organic electroluminescence layer at least partially defining the cavernous portion. Therefore, even if moisture is contained in the air, it is possible to prevent moisture from being absorbed by the organic electroluminescence layer. Moreover, since moisture is not absorbed by the organic electroluminescence layer, it is possible to reduce irregular spot on the device. In addition, it is possible to reduce a short circuit at an open defective portion.

Abstract: A white light source includes a short wavelength LED and a phosphor layer that emits light at longer visible wavelengths. A dichroic reflector transmits the longer wavelength light, and reflects some LED light onto the phosphor such that as light travels from the LED to the dichroic reflector it does not pass through the phosphor. The LED may emit blue light, and the dichroic reflector may transmit a second portion of the LED light, such that the light source output light includes both the second portion of the LED light and the longer wavelength phosphor light. The LED may be mounted on a flexible substrate having a cavity region and neighboring region, the LED being mounted in the cavity region. A dielectric layer may be thinner in the cavity region than in the neighboring region, or a hole may extend completely through the dielectric layer in the cavity region.

Abstract: An illumination device includes a base, a light-emitting module, a first layer, and a second layer. The light-emitting module is disposed on the base for generating a progressive-type light-emitting intensity. The first layer encapsulates the light-emitting module. The second layer encloses the first layer. The second layer has a progressive-type thickness corresponding to the progressive-type light-emitting intensity, and both the progressive-type light-emitting intensity and the progressive-type thickness are decreased or increased gradually, thus the progressive-type light-emitting intensity can be transformed into the same light-emitting intensity through the progressive-type thickness of the second layer.
