Abstract: A charging control method for an electric vehicle is provided. The method uses a vehicle charging device that includes a power factor correction circuit (PFC) and a DC/DC converter. The method includes receiving, by a PFC controller, a control pilot (CP) signal from an external charging device and restricting by the PFC controller an allowable current value derived by analyzing the CP signal to a maximum current value that is to be applied to the PFC. The PFC controller then derives an output current command value of the DC/DC converter by applying an output value of a voltage controller of the PFC to the allowable current value. A DC/DC converter controller then charges a battery using the output current command value of the DC/DC converter.

Abstract: A method for maintaining a light source at an ideal lux helps maintain a lux that is generated by at least one light source at a level that is equal or greater than an ideal lux. The light source may include a digital projector. The ideal lux is necessary to view an image under optimal conditions. The method enables a calculated and incremental increase of the lux generated by the light source to achieve the ideal lux. This incremental increase is correlated to an anticipated loss of lux by the light source. By incrementally increasing the amount of lux generated, a maximum lux capacity of the light source is not used; thereby increasing the lifespan of the light source and providing the viewer with a consistent, ideal brightness image for long periods without requiring excessive replacement of bulbs or maintenance on the light source.
