Patent number: 4721943Abstract: A digital-to-analog converter comprises a current source for supplying a current of predetermined magnitude to a circuit node, and a switch connected to the circuit node, and defining a first current path leading to a reference potential terminal and a second current path leading to an output terminal. The switch has an input terminal, at which it receives a first digital signal of one binary digit for conversion to analog form, and also has a reference terminal, and has a first condition, when the voltage at the reference terminal is higher than that at the input terminal, in which the current supplied to the circuit node is delivered to the output terminal, and a second condition, when the voltage at the reference terminal is lower than that at the input terminal, in which the current is delivered to the reference potential terminal.Type: GrantFiled: October 11, 1985Date of Patent: January 26, 1988Assignee: Tektronix, Inc.Inventor: Richard W. Patent number: 4516118Abstract: A video display terminal (VDT) is provided with a controller having six digital logic lines capable of defining sixty-four different colors. An eight color color display monitor (CDM) having three red, green and blue (RGB) video input lines is connected to a pulse width modulation converter capable of converting the sixty-four digital input conditions on the six low level voltage logic lines to sixty-four different color control conditions on the three video input lines.Type: GrantFiled: August 30, 1982Date of Patent: May 7, 1985Assignee: Sperry CorporationInventor: Clayton C. Patent number: 3961329Abstract: A high resolution, azimuth sector scan radar is provided with sinusoidal operation to establish time sequencing of the radar main bang signal with the horizontal and vertical deflection signals of the video display and the antenna azimuth sweep. A high frequency master oscillator provides a fundamental sinusoidal signal to establish the pulse repetition rate of the radar main bang signal, while phase shift networks provide phase shifting of this signal to produce variable time delayed sinusoidal signals for the vertical deflection excitation and video unblanking of a CRT, to permit the display of selected range segments within the maximum range of the system. A submultiple frequency of the fundamental pulse repetition frequency signal, is synchronized with this signal and is used through similar phase shifting functions to provide video unblanking for the azimuth component of the display, horizontal deflection excitation for the CRT, and synchronization of the radar system and the radar antenna azimuth drive.Type: GrantFiled: April 14, 1975Date of Patent: June 1, 1976Assignee: United Technologies CorporationInventor: Herbert H. Patent number: 3955120Abstract: A circuit for digitally controlling the brightness of the electron beam of an electron beam deflection tube. The circuit permits switching at a very fast rate on the order of 200 nanoseconds. To this end, a differential amplifier is used having an input and an output transistor which may be of opposite conductivity type. The circuit may be protected from saturation state by a diode and from fluctuation in temperature by a further diode and a variable capacitor may be employed for effectively neutralizing the interelectrode capacitance of the electron beam tube.Type: GrantFiled: April 25, 1974Date of Patent: May 4, 1976Assignee: Dr. Ing.
