Patent number: 11428353Abstract: Pipe flange alignment leveling pins are disclosed to square a flange. The pins include a first and a second cylindrical magnet each configured to have a hollow axis and a positive radial pole and a negative radial pole. A first and a second chamfered hollow pin are engineered to axially receive a respective cylindrical magnet, the chamfer of each pin on an end configured complementary to a flange hole chamfer. A non-magnetic core is engineered to axially slide in and out of the hollow axis of the magnets received into respective pins wherein each of a pair of apparatus resemble a bow tie in cross section configured to align a pair of flanges in two places for a level operation. A level is set across a first and a second assembly of chamfered pins to determine a level flange ready for welding.Type: GrantFiled: February 5, 2020Date of Patent: August 30, 2022Inventor: Jose Ramirez

Patent number: 11371391Abstract: The invention concerns a device for assembling a turbine engine, intended to centre a shaft of a second module relative to a longitudinal axis (X) of a trunnion for a first module, the shaft having to be inserted along said longitudinal axis (X) via one end of the trunnion, wherein it includes a holding ring configured to be fixed around trunnion by tightening in such a way as to have a central axis of holding ring coincide with the longitudinal axis of the trunnion, and a means of measurement, supported by holding ring and configured to measure the position of an outer surface of the shaft along a radial direction relative to the central axis of the ring on a transverse plane (P) offset from holding ring, in such a way as to be located in front of the end of the trunnion when the device is installed on the trunnion. The invention also concerns the assembly formed by the device and a calibration model, along with an assembly procedure that uses same.Type: GrantFiled: June 27, 2018Date of Patent: June 28, 2022Assignee: SAFRAN AIRCRAFT ENGINESInventor: Remy Le Gall

Patent number: 5444918Abstract: An arrangement for aligning an apparatus unit with respect to the direction of gravity. The arrangement includes a first support device, a second support device and a third support device acting on a first support point, a second support point, and a third support point, respectively, of the apparatus unit. A measuring level serves to control the alignment of the apparatus unit. The first and second support devices are vertically adjustable. The three support points are arranged in the corners of a triangle. Two separate optically distinguishable partial areas are marked in the region of the measuring level, wherein the first partial area is intersected by a plane through the center of the measuring level extending perpendicularly to the line connecting the first support point and the third support point, and wherein the second partial area is intersected by a plane through the center of the measuring level extending perpendicularly to the line connecting the second support point and the third support point.Type: GrantFiled: December 7, 1993Date of Patent: August 29, 1995Assignee: Mettler-Toledo AGInventor: Roger Leisinger

Patent number: 5219169Abstract: A golf club orientation and alignment system for use when addressing and hitting a golf ball. A bubble indicator is carried at the top surface of a club head and can be adjusted to compensate for different club face offsets. The bubble indicator shows the alignment and orientation of the club head about both a line-of-aim axis and a transverse axis perpendicular to the line-of-aim axis. When the club head is aligned and oriented in this manner, a golfer can shoot more accurately, and eliminate hooks and slices. Arrangement is disclosed also for controllably adjusting the bubble indicator for varying the inclination of a hitting face of the club.Type: GrantFiled: May 8, 1992Date of Patent: June 15, 1993Inventor: Rex L. Patent number: 4604812Abstract: A pitch and angle measuring instrument including three basic elements; a base, a main dial and an elongated pointer. The base includes a bottom portion which is designed to rest on a pipe or other item for which the angle or pitch is desired to be measured. An upper portion extends upward from the lower portion and has a first calibrated scale thereon. The main dial member is rotatedly affixed to the base and extends upward therefrom. A second calibrated scale is located on the main dial member. The elongated pointer is also rotatively connected to the base about the same pivot point as the main dial member. The pointer includes a level indicator. The first and second calibrated scales are arcuate having the same center point. However, the radius of the arc formed by the second scale is greater than the radius of the arc formed by the first scale. The pointer includes means to indicate a reading on both of the scales when the level indicator is at a level position.Type: GrantFiled: March 1, 1985Date of Patent: August 12, 1986Inventor: Jahanbakhsh Arjomand

Patent number: 4133116Abstract: A slope analyzer is provided for attachment to an earth-working vehicle to provide the operator with a direct readout when a selected slope has been attained during the grading operation. An indicator arm is pivotally mounted on a base and movable to a selected slope ratio indicia. Slopes wherein the uphill side of the vehicle is either on the left or the right may be accurately monitored. A curved spring strip forms a preferred retaining means for the arm and a spirit level provides the desired simple readout for the device.Type: GrantFiled: July 21, 1977Date of Patent: January 9, 1979Inventors: Billy B. Patent number: 4069592Abstract: A light weight direct reading inclinometer which can be operated by one man, is easily portable and has a scale readout in both percent slope and inches per foot of slope. The normal operating range is within zero to ten percent slop of inclination and can be extended by the use of accessories and/or adjustment mechanisms. Measurements are made by adjusting a pivotally positioned level vial whose movement is interconnected with an adjustable readout wheel mechanism.Type: GrantFiled: December 31, 1975Date of Patent: January 24, 1978Inventor: Steven W. Patent number: 3947970Abstract: An alignment gauge for use in determining whether two elongated members, such as cylindrical rolls, are in parallel relationship. The gauge includes a rod or standard, and a pad is connected to a micrometer and is mounted for lateral movement with respect to the rod. A level having a bubble-containing vial is mounted for pivotal movement with respect to the rod. In operation, the rod is placed tangentially against one of two generally parallel rolls and the pad is placed tangentially against the other of the rolls. The level is then pivoted until the vial is horizontal. The gauge is then positioned in the same manner at the opposite ends of the rolls and the micrometer is adjusted until the vial is horizontal or level. The reading of the micrometer is an indication of the misalignment of the two rolls.Type: GrantFiled: September 19, 1974Date of Patent: April 6, 1976Assignee: Appleton MillsInventor: John B. Lesure
