  • Patent number: 11820346
Abstract: A brake wear gauge assembly includes a plurality of wires that is each comprised of a bendable material such that each of the wires is retained in a desired shape for guiding between a brake rotor of a vehicle and a brake pad of a vehicle. A ring is provided that has each of the wires movably disposed thereon thereby facilitating the plurality of wires to be portable. A plurality of feeler gauges is each coupled to a respective one of the wires. Each of the feeler gauges can be inserted between the brake rotor and the brake pad and each of the feeler gauges has a unique measuring thickness with respect to each other. In this way the plurality of feeler gauges can measure a variety of distances between the brake rotor and the brake pad.

  • Patent number: 9279653
Abstract: A thread gauge inspection apparatus includes a receiving member to hold a reference thread gauge and a motor to bi-directionally rotate the reference thread gauge. A counter counts a number of turns the reference thread gauge is rotated by the motor, and a torque monitoring device monitors the torque produced by the motor as the reference thread gauge is rotated. A controller, when the monitored torque exceeds a predetermined value, causes the motor to stop rotating the reference thread gauge and causes the counter to stop counting the number of turns the reference thread gauge is rotated. Abstract: The present application provides for feeler gauges. The feeler gauges include a plurality of elongate measuring leaves rotatably coupled on a common axis of rotation with an elongate housing. The leaves may be manually, selectively rotatable between a “home” position wherein the leaves are substantially aligned with the housing and an “extended” position wherein the leaves are spaced from the housing. The gauge body may rest against a back plate, which prevents the caliper from being dislodged from the measuring surface. Indicia are provided for both the external measuring surfaces and internal measuring surfaces on the gauge body.

Abstract: A measurement gage includes a base having two scales at opposite site ends of the base for different ranges of measurement. A tapered feeler gage elements projects axially from each of the opposite ends, and a slide bar is movable along the base, with an indicator fixed thereto for each of the two different scales. Movement of the slide bar in each of two opposite axial directions is calibrated to respective thicknesses of the tapered feeler gage elements.

Abstract: A feeler gage including a pin member having a first end and an opposing end with a gage connected to the opposing end of the pin member. The gage has a first end connected to the pin and a free end projecting past a peripheral dimension of the pin. An indicator is formed on the first end of the pin member in alignment with a longitudinal axis of the gage for determining a position of the gage upon rotation of the pin member. The gage is of a predetermined thickness and is aligned with the indicator formed at the first end of the pin member. Rotation of the pin member correspondingly rotates the gage of the pin member. If the gage rotates freely, then a gap is determined to be present in the area where the gage is rotated through. If the gage does not rotate freely, then no gap exists.

Abstract: A filler gauge with flexible measurement is disclosed in the invention. The invention provides a filler gauge that is easy to be manufactured and able to lower cost as well as increase scope of measurement. In addition, each single unit of the filler gauge is made of plastic material that is flexible, bendable, and able to be trimmed so that various objects to be measured can be measured by suitable single units. Moreover, a ruler area and an angle-measuring area are further provided on each single unit so that a filler gauge capable of doing thickness, depth, and angle measurements is completed.

Abstract: An intrinsic gauging device for a ferrule type tube fitting of the type having a coupling nut, a coupling body and at least one ferrule, includes a precisely formed marking on the coupling body that is visually perceptible when the coupling is in a finger tight position, and that is covered or visually imperceptible or otherwise has a predetermined relationship with the coupling nut when the fitting has been initially pulled-up. In a preferred form, the marking is realized as a precision groove or recess machined into a surface of the coupling body. The groove can be made more easily visually perceptible such as by roughening or knurling the surface, or coloring the surface, for example. The groove defines an edge at a precise position that corresponds to a predetermined axial displacement of the nut relative to the body for initial pull-up.

Abstract: The apparatus forms a combined locating pin and gage for supporting and measuring two pieces of an assembly. The method for using the apparatus includes measuring an opening within each piece of the assembly using the limit gage portion of the apparatus and then locating the pieces together to form a temporary assembly using the gage as the shank of the locating pin portion of the apparatus. The apparatus includes a handle and a shank extending from the handle. In order to use the locating pin and gage apparatus, the mid-section of the shank forms a limit gage and has an outer diameter of a fixed dimension for measuring an opening within the two pieces of the assembly. If the diameter of each opening is within the predetermined limit set for the openings, then the handle of the apparatus is rotated in either direction, correspondingly rotating the lower locking section and causing the locking section to contact the lower piece, effectively temporarily and positively locking the assembly together.

Abstract: A tool for inspecting and verifying weld beads in a pipeline includes a plate-like structure which has a surface and edges adapted for inspecting and verifying various weld bead attributes. The surface is imprinted with several identification marks, including for example, wall thicknesses and ratios of weld bead width to wall thickness. The tool can be used to verify weld bead convexity, weld bead concavity, and weld bead width for many different wall thicknesses. The tool is capable of verifying weld bead width and axial alignment of successive sections of pipe along the pipeline. All verifications and measurements are visual and tactile, without need for complex machinery or calculations, and can be accomplished with a single, lightweight tool. Additionally, a single tool can be used to verify weld beads for a variety of different pipe thicknesses.

  • Patent number: 6688017
Abstract: A method for aligning an extraction electrode to an arc chamber of an ion implantation apparatus can be carried out by first providing a calibration tool that is shaped essentially of a flat key that has sections of different widths. The extraction electrode can then be tilted by switching on a tilt motor, while being moved horizontally by switching on an alignment motor until the calibration tool can be smoothly inserted into the slit openings in the arc chamber and in the extraction electrode. The tilt motor and the alignment motor are controlled by a tilt/align controller. When such insertion is not possible, the extraction electrode can be continuously tilted and moved horizontally until such smooth insertion is possible. The present invention further discloses a calibration tool that can be used easily for aligning an extraction electrode to an arc chamber of an ion implantation apparatus.
