Abstract: A dynamic, adjustable annuloplasty ring sizer can include an adjustable ring replica, which can be adjusted through a range of sizes corresponding to available prosthetic annuloplasty repair ring sizes. Actuation of an adjustment trigger on a handle portion of the ring sizer can displace tension wires that extend through a malleable shaft and through a plurality of articulating segments that form the ring replica. Displacement of the tension wires causes flexion of the joints between adjacent articulating segments, thereby reducing the overall size of the ring replica. Releasing the tension wires can allow an elastic extension wire to act on the ring replica, enlarging the ring replica to its maximum, at-rest size. In this manner, the appropriate size of annuloplasty ring prosthesis can be determined with a single device, without requiring a plurality of static ring sizers that require individual insertion and placement for the conventional trial-and-error sizing methods.

Abstract: The pipe contour gauge is a device used to determine a diameter of a pipe or other object. The pipe contour gauge is constructed of a contour base from which a plurality of tines is able to move. Each of the plurality of tines is generally parallel with adjacent ones of the plurality of tines. Moreover, each of the plurality of tines is able to move independent of any remaining ones of the plurality of tines. Each of the plurality of tines is able to move up or down with respect to the contour base. The plurality of tines is adapted to interface with a surface of an object in order to form a profile that is compared with a chart outlining different diameters. The chart that outlines different diameters is used to decipher a size of a pipe or cylindrically-shaped object.

Abstract: A system and method for virtually fitting an article of clothing on an accurate representation of a user's body obtained by 3D scanning of the user in minimal clothing and in standard garments of known properties. A graphical user interface allows the user to access a database of garments and accessories available for selection for the virtual fitting simulation for which each garment's physical and material properties are known. A finite element analysis is applied to determine the shape of the combined user body and garment and a an accurate visual representation of the selected garment or accessory on the proportional model of the user's body based on the analysis is generated. Means are also provided for the user to solicit custom garments or accessories from a participating designer or retailer, purchase selected garments or accessories from the participating designer or retailer, and communicate his or her preferences with participating designers, retailers, or other users.

Abstract: A trip hazard measurement gauge is, except for a measurement module and display, constructed primarily of aluminum. A cylindrical tube has an upper straight section and a lower straight section that are interconnected by a curved section. The upper straight section and the lower straight section form an obtuse angle. A cylindrical aluminum housing is connected to the tube via a conical connecter piece. A non-movable foot is rigidly connected to the cylindrical housing. A measurement module is installed within the cylindrical housing. A slidable rule, to which a movable foot is attached to a lower end thereof, extends from the measurement module. A return spring ensures that the movable foot returns to its lowermost position. After turning ON the display, selecting the measurement system and zeroing the gauge, it is ready to measure differences in elevation between adjacent sidewalk slabs.

Abstract: A sleeve clamp has a body with a through bore for receiving a sleeve, and a clamping element. The clamping element includes a clamping edge and may be arranged at the body so as to be movable between two positions, i.e. a neutral position and a deflected position. In the neural position, the clamping edge protrudes laterally into a lumen which is occupied by the sleeve when the sleeve is received in the through bore. In the deflected position, the clamping element may be elastically deformed and the clamping edge does not protrude into the lumen which is occupied by the sleeve when the sleeve is received in the through bore.

  • Patent number: 9682005
Abstract: Running in a mammal, such as a human, is augmented by adaptively modulating anticipation of maximum leg extension of a mammal when running, and actuating an exoskeletal clutch linked in series to at least one elastic element, wherein the clutch and elastic element form an exoskeleton and are attached in parallel to at least one muscle-tendon unit of a leg of the mammal and span at least one joint of the mammal fitted with the exoskeleton. The exoskeletal clutch is actuated in advance of a predicted maximum extension of the exoskeletal clutch to thereby cause the exoskeletal clutch to lock essentially simultaneously with ground strike by the leg of the mammal. The elastic element is thereby engaged during stance phase of the gait of the mammal while running, and subsequently is disengaged prior to or during the swing phase of the gait of the mammal, thereby augmenting running of the mammal.

Abstract: A measuring system for analyzing a knee joint motion trajectory when a rider is riding a bike (cycling) and a measuring method thereof are disclosed. The measuring system includes a pedal-able device, a light emitting component fixed at a tibial plateau of the rider, an image capturing device, and a knee joint motion trajectory analysis device. When the rider continuously pedals the pedal-able device, the image capturing device captures an image of a central position of the rider's lower limb and a light spot trajectory image of the light emitting component. The motion trajectory analysis device generates an ellipse motion trajectory diagram. After comparing and analyzing a body central line with a trajectory long axis line, a foot force distribution and a shifting data of the knee joint motion trajectory is acquired, and a proper insole is determined.
