  • Publication number: 20120317827
Abstract: A measuring tool includes a tool body and a first measuring unit. The first measuring unit includes a first probe, a first measuring meter, and a first zero button. The first probe is used for contacting a standard part or a test part inside the tool body. The first measuring meter is connected to the first probe for displaying a first zero value or a first measure value. The first zero button is used for zeroing the first measuring meter to display the first zero value when the first probe contacts the standard part. When the first probe contacts the test part after the first measuring meter is zeroed, the first measuring meter displays the first measure value. A first dimension difference value of the test part and the standard part is equal to a difference value of the first measure value and the first zero value.

Abstract: Provided is a test device for checking whether the position of a first circular through hole defined in a workpiece meets a tolerance requirement. The test device includes a base, a positioning block, a test pin, a floating support block, and a standard design part. The positioning block is mounted on the base and positions the workpiece. The test pin includes a cylindrical rod capped with a conical part. The floating support block is coupled to the base and supports the test pin. A central axis of the test pin is coincident with a central axis of the first circular through hole. The standard design part is mounted on the base and defines a second circular through hole. If the cylindrical rod can insert into the second circular through hole, the positioning of the first circular through hole meets the tolerance requirement.

Abstract: The invention is directed to a gauge assembly that is used to measure parameters of camshaft journals or other objects with cylindrical surfaces. The gauge assembly includes two gauges, the first is an air snap gauge and the second a linear variable differential transducer. The air snap gauge is slidingly attached to the base and the second gauge is attached to a base as well. Air resistance measurements, taken through the air snap gauge provide a measure of diameter of the journal while relative linear motion between the base and air snap gauge, measured by the second gauge, provides a measure of journal runout relative to the center axis of the camshaft. Control logic is used to calculate other parameters such as runout of a journal relative to another journal on a common camshaft.
