Patent number: 9912415Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are described for service discovery and connection establishment of a point-to-point (e.g., device-to-device) wireless communication. Wireless devices may initiate point-to-point communication utilizing ultrasonic signals. A user may initiate a scan for one device to detect, select, and establish a connection with another device, where the scan utilizes an ultrasonic signal. Once connected, the device may create a profile with one anther and/or wirelessly communicate with one another to, for example, exchange data.Type: GrantFiled: November 12, 2013Date of Patent: March 6, 2018Assignee: QUALCOMM IncorporatedInventors: Yossi Tsfaty, Nathan Altman, Gilad Bornstein

Publication number: 20130002379Abstract: A method for calibrating multi carriage-multi probe impedance tuners for synthesizing distinct, user defined impedances at a number of harmonic frequencies, employs two-port s-parameter characterization of the tuning sections on a pre-calibrated vector network analyzer at a pre-selected number of probe positions. All tuner probes are wideband and capable of creating high reflection factor at all harmonic frequencies considered. The data are saved in memory and all permutations of the s-parameters at all harmonic frequencies are generated. Subsequently the data are organized blocks based on reflection factor values fitting in a number of segments of the Smith chart; this allows accelerated numeric search through a pre-selection of data block depending on the target reflection factor chosen. The method can be used for two three and four probe tuners.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 18, 2012Publication date: January 3, 2013Inventor: Christos Tsironis

Publication number: 20120274427Abstract: A Radio Frequency Receiver on a Single Integrated Circuit (“RFSIC”) is described. The RFSIC may include a mixer, a phase-locked loop (“PLL”) in signal communication with the mixer, and an on-chip auto-tuned RF filter in signal communication with both the mixer and PPL, such that the same PLL simultaneously tunes the frequency of the VCO and the frequency response of the auto-tuned RF filter.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 28, 2011Publication date: November 1, 2012Applicant: SiRF Technology Inc.Inventors: Noshir Dubash, Jeffrey E. Patent number: 7034899Abstract: A control unit (10) superimposes command signals on AC power passing on a power line or network (40). A command unit (20) controls and powers an electrical load (50) such as a motor M. A command processor (26) receives radio frequency control signals at a first input (24) from an antenna (12) and a receiver/demodulator (22) and receives command signals from the power line at a second input (25) connected with a pulse shaping circuit (23). In a first, normal operating mode, the command processor controls the electrical load in accordance with signals received at the radio frequency input. In a second, special mode initiated power line command signals, the command processor at least temporarily blocks the execution of commands received at the radio frequency input.Type: GrantFiled: June 25, 2002Date of Patent: April 25, 2006Assignee: Somfy SASInventors: Lionel Symoen, Laurent Gauthier

Patent number: 4980663Abstract: The inductance value of air-core coils are adjusted using automated methods and inexpensive, noncomplicated apparatus. Adjusting tools are provided which displace coil turns in a linear motion with respect to the coil centerline. Specifically, the coil turns can be displaced by sliding perpendicularly to the coil centerline or by rotating a group of coils in order to modify the coil inductance. The adjusting tools used and the method of coil-turn displacement allow the automated method to reincrease the inductance of a coil in the event that displacement causes an over-decrease of inductance.Type: GrantFiled: December 28, 1989Date of Patent: December 25, 1990Assignee: Ford Motor CompanyInventor: Charles R. Patent number: 4393277Abstract: A remote tuner control system for responding to command signals transmitted by a user on a full-duplex communication channel. The tuner control system comprises a tone decoder coupled to the communication channel for conversion of pushbutton telephone tones generated by a user to binary numeric data; a tuner for reception of local audio broadcast radio signals; a speech generator for generating audio speech command menus and command acknowledgements; an output selector assembly coupled to the tuner and to the speech generator adapted for selection of audio information returned to the user; and an input/output interface assembly coupled to the tuner and output selector assembly. The input/output interface assembly is adapted to control reception frequency of the tuner and output selection of the output selector assembly and is coupled to a processor, the speech generator and tone decoder.Type: GrantFiled: March 18, 1981Date of Patent: July 12, 1983Assignee: Selectastation, Inc.Inventors: Peter D. Patent number: 4389731Abstract: A touch type tuner of television is equipped with a touch control mechanism which has a plurality of touch fingers, each thereof having one end abutting against touch buttons of the tuner respectively. The touch control mechanism is communicating with a remote control box by a plurality of flexible tubes connecting therebetween. As one of the push buttons of the remote control box is depressed, an air pressure is transmitted through the tube to blow a bellows which subsequently biases a movable body forwards and actuates a potential conducting line to contact with the other end of the corresponding touch finger, whereby the remote control of selection is achieved.Type: GrantFiled: April 17, 1981Date of Patent: June 21, 1983Inventor: Ta-She Wu
