With Shielding Or Housing Means Patents (Class 334/85)
  • Patent number: 4306205
Abstract: A high frequency apparatus such as an electronic television tuner comprises a main base plate having a circuit pattern and components disposed on it. A shield casing encloses and supports the main base plate by encompassing it at its peripheral edge. The shield casing is open at one side corresponding to one edge of the main base plate and is preferably also open at the upper and lower surfaces of the casing. The opened side of the shield casing is provided with an auxiliary base plate having a shield conductive film on its outer surface. The main base plate has a plurality of first apertures and the auxiliary base plate has corresponding pluralities of second and third apertures. Capacitor elements are inserted through at least some of the second apertures. The first apertures and apertures in the capacitor elements receive corresponding end portions of L shaped connection terminals.

  • Patent number: 4254390
Abstract: A tuning device including a conductive housing in which are suspended a dielectric substrate. A pair of first and second resonant circuits is disposed on the substrate in parallel with each other. Each resonant circuit is formed by an elongated conductive film and a capacitive element. A grounded conductive strip film is provided between the transmission lines of the first and second resonant circuits to reduce the interstage coupling between the two transmission lines with a resultant decrease in spacing between them.

  • Patent number: 4207549
Abstract: A VHF television tuner circuit is adapted for selecting a channel from a plurality of VHF television channels and a UHF/VHF converted television channel, by mechanical selection to form a resonant circuit having electrical characteristics corresponding to the selected channel. The tuner circuit is coupled to a VHF television signal terminal and a UHF/VHF converted television signal terminal. The tuner circuit comprises a channel selection means including a first switch and a second switch each comprising movable contacts fixedly positioned on a channel selection shaft and stationary contacts corresponding to the selectable channel positions and positioned in proximity to the movable contacts for coaction therewith. The first switch comprises a movable/stationary contact combination positioned in the vicinity of the VHF television signal terminal and responsive to selection of the UHF/VHF converted channel position for being grounded for electrostatically shielding the VHF television signal terminal.

  • Patent number: 4019141
Abstract: An improved preselector cavity arrangement and RF selectivity assembly includes a cast housing for the preselector with a plurality of interconnection apertures or slots, each being surrounded by a boss. Each boss is mated with a slot in an adjoining housing of an interconnected module for allowing input, output and injection connections to be made to the preselector without intermediate connections to the supporting printed circuit board. One adjoining housing may contain the RF amplifier with coupling and impedance matching to the amplifier output coil provided by a loop from the preselector input. The loop passes through the shielded aperture, couples to the output coil by passing around the coil form and then returns to ground on the preselector casting. The injection filter and tripler/mixer modules may be contained in other adjoining housings and also coupled to the preselector through shielded apertures. To minimize RF spray radiation no interconnections are made via the printed circuit board.
