Abstract: An electromagnetic relay having superior visibility and a light-emitting device easy to mount. A coil block and a contact opening and closing mechanism are disposed on a base plate and covered with a case, and the electromagnetic relay magnetizes and demagnetizes the coil block via coil terminals to turn a movable core and moves a movable contact part to open and close a contact. Electrical connection portions of the coil terminals are projected upwardly through the top side of the case. A light-emitting device which emits light by the energization of the coil terminals and a holder which holds the light-emitting device are disposed on the top side of the case on the side opposite to a position where the electrical connection portions of the coil terminals of the case are projected. Lead wires connected to the light-emitting device are electrically connected to the electrical connection portions of the coil terminals.

Abstract: The invention relates to a relay comprising a coil bobbin, a core penetrating the coil bobbin and a yoke. To achieve a high switching force with a low overall height, the cross-sectional area of the core is greater in the region toward the transition to the yoke than in the central region of the coil bobbin. Increased magnetic flux can be conveyed from the core owing to the cross-sectional enlargement and at the same time more coil windings can be arranged in the central region owing to the reduced cross-section there. Both measures act together and allow high switching forces with low overall height.

Abstract: For the purpose of testing a relay, a safety relay comprises a key (12) arranged in a housing cover and which acts upon a lever (38) pivotally mounted on the inside of the housing. Due to the pivoting of the lever a movable switching contact carrier of the relay is moved. To avoid excessive deviation of the switching contact carrier through excessive lever force and therefore a possible plastic deformation of the contact carrier springs, the force which is possibly applied to the switching contact carrier is restricted by a U-shaped spring (40) held by the lever (38). A pressure leg (48) is biased by a latching lug (52a, 52b) supported by a peg formed as one piece with the lever (38). Consequently the switching contact carrier is moved via the spring with only a predetermined maximum force, so that a deformation of the springs supporting the contact pieces is avoided and the contact pieces maintain the required specified contact distance.

The movable component further comprises a movable contact element and a movable iron member. The movable contact element and the movable iron member are isolated from each other by a retainer. The movable contact element, movable iron member and retainer all form a single piece. The retainer further comprises a first retainer portion for retaining the movable contact element, and a second retainer portion for retaining the movable iron member. The first and second retainer portions are also formed into a single piece.

Abstract: A relay is formed by a magnet system containing a wound coil body, an L-shaped core arranged axially therein, an L-shaped armature and a base element with terminal elements. Stationary and moving contact elements are arranged between the base element and the magnet system. The armature is mounted with the free end of its transverse leg at the free end of the longitudinal leg of the core. The armature is secured through a U-shaped armature spring wrapping around the armature. The spring is secured with one arm at the longitudinal leg of the armature and a second arm is inserted in a recess between the coil body and the core. The actuation of the moving contact elements is provided via a slide coupled to the armature. This slide is hooked to the armature by spring tabs of the armature spring at opposing sides of the armature through snap latches formed at the ends of the side arms of the slide.
