  • Patent number: 6084493
Abstract: A magnet valve having a rod-like base body for insertion into a stepped bore of a hydraulic block through which a valve tappet reaches a valve closing ball and on whose face end remote to an armature a cup-shaped sleeve is mounted. A valve seat of the magnet valve is embodied on the bottom of the cup-shaped sleeve. In order to make a large flow cross section available for a flow through the magnet valve in one flow direction, a check valve is integrated with the magnet valve and that to this end flow openings are disposed on an imaginary circle in the bottom of the cup-shaped sleeve. The openings are closed by an annular valve closing body of the check valve. The magnet valve of the invention is intended particularly for use as a brake pressure buildup valve for a wheel brake cylinder of a slip-controlled vehicle brake system.

  • Patent number: 5181002
Abstract: An electromagnetic switch for a starter comprises a plunger made of elastic material such as rubber. The thickness of the flange portion is minimized and using a conventional core plate is deviated. The axial height of the rim of the front portion of the case into which is inserted the flange is decreased to produce the case by cold forging.

  • Patent number: 5155461
Abstract: A solenoid stator assembly for electronically actuated fuel injectors is disclosed as having an E-shaped stator core including a top portion and three parallel pole pieces extending orthogonally therefrom. The outer pole pieces each have an outermost side, and each of the three pole pieces has a distal end, a face being formed across the distal end. Each of the outer pole pieces has an attachment slot formed across its outermost side proximate its distal end. A coil of electric wire is disposed around an insulating spool disposed on the central pole piece, and leads from the coil are connected to terminals. A flange on one end of the spool exerts outward forces on the outer pole pieces, prestressing them to resist further flexing caused by outwardly directed forces applied by errant fuel under pressure. An insulating cover is molded around the solenoid stator assembly, enveloping it except for portions of the terminals and the faces of the pole pieces, the cover being bonded to at least the stator core.

  • Patent number: 5145149
Abstract: This invention is directed to a connection between a magnet valve and a housing block. The housing block has a receiving bore, which as the bore depth increases changes the bore into an undercut. A valve body portion has a shape adapted to the undercut, leaving open a continuous encompassing gap of constant width with respect to the undercut. A housing jacket that fits over the coil of the magnet valve is press-fitted into the gap. The jacket is longitudinally slit to form tongues whose ends undergo deformation in the undercut. The form-fitting connection is usable for instance in the hydraulic unit of anti-lock vehicle brake systems.

  • Patent number: 5126712
Abstract: A solenoid apparatus comprising a solenoid case (27) having an open end and a substantially closed end, a plunger (30) electromagnetically movably mounted in the solenoid case, and a substantially cup-shaped flexible water-tight boot (40). The cup-shaped boot (40) surrounds an end portion of the plunger (30) projecting from the solenoid case (27) and connected to the open end of the solenoid case, the flexible boot (40) having a bottom wall central portion intimately secured to the end portion of the plunger (30). The flexible boot (40) comprises a vent hole (44) defined by a hollow tube (45) extending through the boot wall in parallel to the plunger and a flexible valve plate (48) formed integral with and inside of the boot wall and biased by the elasticity of the material of the boot (40) into an open position (FIG. 5).

  • Patent number: 5102096
Abstract: The invention is directed to a connection that can be easily made, produced at little expense, and can carry heavy loads. A housing block has a receiving bore with undercut portions, embodied by a groove, that extend over circumferential regions of this bore. A magnet valve has primary flange segments formed onto the valve body, which along their end face which face toward the opening of the receiving bore of the housing block are conically limited in cross section. These flange segments which extend over circumferential regions of the magnet valve body engage the undercut portions, formed in accordance with the cross section of the flange segments, in the manner of a bayonet mount type of connection. The connection is particularly suitable for use in hydraulic vehicle brake systems, where particularly strong forces between the magnet valve and the housing block must be absorbed.

The outer surface 50 of a tubular wall 47 of the bobbin is oval in cross-section so that thicker-wall portions 47a are defined between the inner and the outer surfaces 49, 50.

  • Patent number: 4884782
Abstract: A solenoid valve assembly in which the solenoid and valve are axially fitted together. The solenoid comprises a cylindrical housing having an axial slot running along its entire length to allow the housing to be resiliently circumferentially expanded. The valve body has a cylindrical axial surface over which an axial end portion of the housing is fitted. Just beyond this cylindrical axial surface is a narrow groove. The cylindrical housing of the solenoid is provided with preformed stakes in its end edge which fit into this narrow groove to retain the solenoid end valve together in assembly. The invention is particularly advantageous where there is a limited axial length for the cylindrical housing of the solenoid to fit onto the valve body. The invention provides adequate retention in assembly, a sufficient area for magnetic flux that passes between the solenoid housing and the valve body, and the ability to easily disassemble the solenoid from the valve when such disassembly is desired.
