The diode includes a cylindrical body, a first lead extending from a first end of the cylindrical body, and a second lead extending from a second end of the cylindrical body. The cylindrical body of the diode is retained by the diode holder within the toroidal space, and the first lead of the diode extends out of the toroidal space and is electrically connected to the stop member.

The coil is arranged such that the axial direction of the coil is substantially parallel to a bottom surface of the case. The difference in concentration of the magnetic material in the outer core portion in the axial direction of the coil is smaller than the difference in concentration of the magnetic material in the outer core portion in a direction along a side wall of the case. With the reactor, even if the outer core portion covering the outside of the coil is formed of the mixture of the magnetic material and the resin, a desirable inductance value can be easily achieved and the reactor can have good heat radiation performance.
