Patent number: 5003278Abstract: A high frequency noise suppressor for engagement around a cable comprises a pair of case halves made of nylon or other rugged synthetic material which can be snapped around a cable in clam shell like fashion. A ferrite core half is positioned in each case half for defining a ferrite core member around the cable. Each case half has opposite end walls with semicircular recesses. A plurality of triangular fingers extend into each recess and are positioned at a slight angle outwardly with respect to an interior of each case half. The fingers have truncated apexes for defining a small opening in each recess. If a cable which is larger than the small opening is to be engaged by the suppressor, the fingers bend outwardly on opposite sides of the case for firmly engaging the cable. This resists relative movement between the closed case and the cable in either direction along the cable.Type: GrantFiled: March 1, 1990Date of Patent: March 26, 1991Assignee: FerriShield, Inc.Inventor: James P. Patent number: 4972167Abstract: An electric noise absorber for absorbing electric noise on an electronic device, comprising a piece or pieces of ferrite and an openable case composed of a pair of case members for containing the piece or pieces of ferrite, keeps the electric cable in position by means of two pairs of holding members, and also holds the cable loosely at openings formed in both ends of the case members. The electric cable is prevented from being damaged because the cable is not bent sharply in the vicinity of the openings. The piece or pieces of ferrite is or are attached to or detached from the case members easily owing to the elasticity of the holding members. Moreover, the electric noise absorber is installed on the electric cable simply by being placed at an appropriate position and being closed by means of a pair of protrusion and a pair of hooks provided on the two case members, respectively.Type: GrantFiled: February 5, 1990Date of Patent: November 20, 1990Assignee: Kitagawa Industries Co., Ltd.Inventor: Akio Fujioka

The top housing contains a primary conductor which is surrounded by coils of the secondary circuit. The secondary terminal leads are installed in a grounded lead-through tube which is disposed within the hollow porcelain insulator. In order to increase the dielectric strength of the current transformer, the space which is enclosed by the top housing and the porcelain insulator is divided into a high-pressure region and a low-pressure region, the former region including zones which are exposed to high voltages, in particular the interior of the top housing, and which are bounded throughout by metal and a mechanically strong insulating material, such as a casting region.Type: GrantFiled: July 8, 1983Date of Patent: April 16, 1985Assignee: BBC Brown, Boveri & Company, LimitedInventors: Manfred Baier, Andreas Tobler

Patent number: 4510477Abstract: A current transformer characterized by a terminal bushing extending from a tank with a pair of spaced conductors extending through the bushing and into the tank and with the portions of the conductors in the tank being enclosed within tubular means. The assembly of the conductors, bushing, and tubular means being clamped together by resilient (spring) means for holding the conductors in tension and the bushing and tubular means in compression. The transformer also embodies two separate oil systems.Type: GrantFiled: October 19, 1983Date of Patent: April 9, 1985Assignee: Westinghouse Electric Corp.Inventors: Joseph R. Rostron, John R. Patent number: 4491818Abstract: A pickup coil assembly comprises a pancake-shaped coil mounted in a plastic form having a pair of parallel support posts therethrough. The form is positioned in a plastic housing having a central aperture in one wall formed by cut away jaw portions for gripping a conductor inserted therethrough. A back wall of the housing includes a co-axial aperture of larger dimension to permit free passage of the conductor.Type: GrantFiled: March 30, 1983Date of Patent: January 1, 1985Assignee: Zenith Electronics CorporationInventors: Bernard D. Patent number: 4464644Abstract: A transformer is fixed between two electrically insulating plates extending through a hollow porcelain tube connected at both ends to an upper and a lower tank through packings respectively and two compression controlled helical springs are disposed in the upper tank to controllably tension the mating electrical insulating plates with respect to the lower tank. The upper tank is also connected to the lower tank by means of at least three supporting rods disposed on the outside of the porcelain tube and including one end fixed to the upper tank and the other ends threaded and coupled to threaded studs welded to the lower tank through turnbuckles with a cushion interposed between the supporting rods and the porcelain tube.Type: GrantFiled: August 8, 1983Date of Patent: August 7, 1984Assignee: Mitsubishi Denki Kabushiki KaishaInventor: Takeo Fukatsu

Patent number: 4459967Abstract: An ignition coil for use with internal combustion engines includes a casing made of iron materials and a coil cap made of an insulating material and secured to the opening end of the casing to close the same. The casing contains a central core, a secondary coil disposed about the outer periphery of the central core, and a primary coil disposed around the outer periphery of the secondary coil. The coil cap mounts thereon primary and secondary terminals, and is integrally formed with a cylindrical leg portion shaped to extend toward the inner bottom surface of the casing and enclose the secondary coil inward. The cylindrical leg portion of the coil cap is integrally formed at its outer periphery with upper and lower flanges, and the primary coil is wound round the outer periphery of the cylindrical leg portion between the upper and lower flanges.Type: GrantFiled: September 22, 1981Date of Patent: July 17, 1984Assignee: Nippondenso Co., Ltd.Inventor: Toshio Hayashi
