The second module includes a control input and a power output.     Abstract: A circuit breaker for an electric device has a pair of switching pieces, an electric circuit for supplying electric power to the device, an arrangement for opening the electric circuit, an arrangement for locking the switching pieces to normally close the electric circuit, a drive connected in parallel with the power source via a gate for releasing the locking arrangement, and a terminal piece located in the device and connected to the electric circuit by a cord. The cord picks up leakage current in the device to turn the gate on by the leakage current when the device becomes immersed in water. The turning on of the gate effects the release of the locking arrangement, so that the switching pieces open the electric circuit.

    Abstract: A high current switch includes first and second contact plates, each having a contact surface. The contact plates are moved between a closed position with the contact surfaces in contact and an open position with the contact surfaces separated. An electric bridge has opposite ends connected to the contact plates and spans the contact surfaces. During opening of the switch, the electric bridge, in the form of a fuse, remains integral and provides a secondary electrical connection between the contact surfaces, thus preventing arcing therebetween. Upon complete opening of the switch, the electrical bridge ruptures.

    Abstract: A circuit interrupting device is disclosed. A stationary contact is mounted within a stationary hollow insulator and connected to one side of an electrical circuit. A movable contact normally engages the stationary contact and is mounted for movement within the stationary hollow insulator. The movable contact is connected by a contact rod that extends through an opening in the insulator to a set of spring detent fingers. The spring detent fingers electrically and mechanically engage the end of a movable conductive element, such as a power fuse or disconnect switchblade, which is connected to the other side of the electrical circuit. A spring biases the movable contact toward engagement with the stationary contact. When the movable conductive element is moved away from the device, the spring detent fingers grip the element and cause the movable contact to move to disengage the stationary contact.

A switch is remotely operable to establish electrical communication between the transformer casing and the intermediate terminal, and thus to the ground terminal of the lightning arrester.
