Patent number: 10862229Abstract: A fuse clip comprising a pair of first springs configured to support a fuse having a cylindrical body part from a radially outer side and a pair of second springs disposed side by side with the first springs in an axial direction of the fuse and configured to elastically support the fuse from the radially outer side. The first springs are configured to elastically support the cylindrical body part at a point of intersection between a horizontal line segment passing through a center of the cylindrical body part and an outer circumferential surface of the cylindrical body part or at a position higher than the point of intersection. The second springs are configured to elastically support the cylindrical body part at a higher position with respect to the point of intersection than the first springs elastically support the cylindrical body part.Type: GrantFiled: June 24, 2019Date of Patent: December 8, 2020Assignees: Toyota Jidosha Kabushiki Kaisha, Tyco Electronics Japan G.K.Inventors: Tomokazu Yamane, Seiji Komatsu, Makoto Motono

Patent number: 4761148Abstract: A rejection-type fuse block is disclosed for use with Class CC cartridge-type fuses having ferrules at opposite ends, the ferrule at one end having a cap of smaller diameter than the ferrule. An insulated rejection collar having a rejection opening sized to allow the cap to pass therethrough while preventing passage of the ferrule is positioned between the fuse and an electrically conductive terminal. A leaf spring located at the end of the fuse opposite the cap end serves to axially press the fuse towards the insulated rejection collar and the cap into contact with the terminal. Fuse clips are provided for releasably securing the clip in proper position.Type: GrantFiled: February 7, 1983Date of Patent: August 2, 1988Assignee: Cooper Industries, Inc.Inventor: Gayle L. Sappington

Patent number: 4669794Abstract: A single integral molded red plastic article, of star shape, having a central body portion with radiating arms at the ends of which are blocking elements of cylindrical shape. The blocking elements are of different sizes. In use, a selected one the blocking elements is pushed into one of the pair of fuse clips, after the fuse is removed. The selected blocking element is so selected according to the size of the fuse clip. The remaining blocking elements extend outwardly and serve as a grip for handling the article, and as a visual signal.Type: GrantFiled: December 26, 1985Date of Patent: June 2, 1987Inventor: Steven J. Patent number: 4547036Abstract: A fuse clip unit is constructed with an entrance unit having positive reject stops which prevent insertion of all except a selected fuse which provides branch circuit protection of 200,000 amps R.M.S. interrupting capacity. The selected fuse has a unique end nib which moves the stops to open the entrance unit and permit insertion of the fuse. The entrance unit may be integral with the fuse clip or formed as a separate cover. The fuse clip unit is secured within an insulating and mounting housing having clip chambers. A safety cover is secured to the housing overlying the chambers and includes a side insertion opening for each chamber which prevents access to the reject stops and thereby prevents manual moving of the stops to circumvent the reject stops.Type: GrantFiled: September 13, 1982Date of Patent: October 15, 1985Assignee: Marathon Electric Manufacturing Corp.Inventors: Josef Keglewitsch, Theodore J. Stechschulte

Patent number: 4108531Abstract: A fuse holder assembly includes a fuse clip having clamping arms which define a pocket for receiving a fuse terminal ferrule. A rejection member equipped with an interference element is slideably mounted for movement between a non-rejecting position and a rejecting position with the interference element disposed within the clip pocket to obstruct the insertion of a fuse terminal ferrule which is not specially keyed with an annular groove. The rejection member further includes resilient tabs or barbs which are activated upon movement of the rejection member to its rejecting position to lock the rejection member thereat.Type: GrantFiled: September 16, 1977Date of Patent: August 22, 1978Assignee: General Electric CompanyInventor: Howard Reynolds

Patent number: 4099828Abstract: A fuse clip includes a pair of clamping arms defining a fuse terminal blade receiving slot. A rejector pin, once inserted through a hole in one of the clamping arms, is prevented from being withdrawn by a spring retainer clip. The pin, which spans the slot to accept only fuse terminal blades keyed with a special notch, carries a loaded compression spring serving to rigidify its cantilever mounting to the one clamping arm.Type: GrantFiled: October 7, 1977Date of Patent: July 11, 1978Assignee: General Electric CompanyInventors: Louis T. Stegmaier, Howard Reynolds

Patent number: 4097114Abstract: A fuse holder with a reject spring which will only accept a ferrule type fuse with an annular groove in the ferrule at one end. The reject member is a reinforcing spring located externally of the fuse clip on the fuse holder with ears on each side extending through complementary openings in each side of the fuse clip to engage the groove in the fuse. Flanges extend outwardly of the reinforcing spring to engage the side walls of the molding or body of the fuse holder as the fuse passes through the upper restriction of the fuse clip to prevent displacement of the ears on the spring from inside the fuse clip.Type: GrantFiled: April 28, 1977Date of Patent: June 27, 1978Assignee: Marathon Electric Manufacturing CompanyInventor: Roger Henwood Motten, Jr.

Patent number: 4081779Abstract: An electrical device, in particular a fuse, circuit breaker or the like, comprises a housing having extending therefrom a projection, together with two conductive pins for connecting the device to an external circuit. A receptacle for accommodating the device has a wall provided with a seat and also with two holes through which the device pins pass when the device is inserted in the receptacle. A fitting is releasably accommodated in the seat and is able to accommodate the entrance therein of the projection to enable the device to be fully inserted. If an attempt is made to insert in the receptacle a different device provided with a projection that cannot enter the recess in the seat, the device cannot be fully inserted. However, the receptacle can be conditioned to accept the different device by inserting in the seat a different fitting having a different recess which will accommodate entrance of the projection of the different fitting.Type: GrantFiled: August 18, 1976Date of Patent: March 28, 1978Assignee: Bassani Ticino S.p.A.Inventor: Pierluigie Ranzanigo

Patent number: 4037917Abstract: A rejector pin member is field installable between the spring-loaded clip jaws of a terminal clip receiving a terminal blade of a cartridge fuse. The rejector pin allows the terminal clip to only accept a notched terminal blade of a fuse having a relatively low current rating and rejects the unnotched terminal blade of a cartridge fuse having a relatively high current rating, to prevent formation of an overcurrent heating hazard in the circuit protected by the fuse.Type: GrantFiled: January 20, 1976Date of Patent: July 26, 1977Assignee: I-T-E Imperial CorporationInventor: Ralph C.
