  • Patent number: 8004385
Abstract: An electrical protective device is described which has two PTC thermistor components which are in the form of plates and are arranged in a common housing. The housing in each case has an opening on two opposite sides, which opening corresponds to the dimensions of the PTC thermistor components such that the PTC thermistor components can be inserted into the housing through the openings. The two PTC thermistor components are electrically isolated from one another in the housing. The PTC thermistor components each have at least two connecting wires, by means of which the PTC thermistor components are locked to the housing.

  • Patent number: 6751862
Abstract: An electronic device containing an electronic element such as a thermistor element is produced first by providing the element with electrodes formed on its two main surfaces facing outward away from each other, at least two terminals and a casing. Each terminal has a contact part for contacting one of the electrodes and an extended part extending from the contact part. The contact part of at least one of the terminals is elastic and bendable. The terminals and the electronic element are inserted into the casing either sequentially or simultaneously as an assembly in any of the ways such that the electrodes on the electronic element are not rubbed directly against the contact parts of the terminals. This may be done by disposing flexible guide plates over the contact parts such that the electrodes will glide over these guide plates as the electronic element is inserted after the terminals are installed inside the casing.

  • Patent number: 6317024
Abstract: A resistor 1 is used in high-fidelity amplifiers for audio equipment. The resistor 1 includes a cylindrical resistor body 2, a tubular sheath 3 into which the resistor body 2 is coaxially inserted, and a conductive film portion 31a formed on the inside surface 3a of the sheath 3. The conductive film portion 31a faces to a resistance film 22 covering the surface of the resistor body 2 with an annular space 6. An insulating slit 32 is formed at a central point along the resistor axis 1a, separating the conductive film 31 into left and right parts that are electrically isolated from each other. The sheath covering the resistor body 2 prevents distortion of signals in the resistance film 22 caused by extraneous electrostatic induction charges.

  • Patent number: 5225169
Abstract: An improved sulfider is provided for receiving high temperature catalysts from a hydrocarbon cracking operation and subjecting the catalyst to a sulfur-containing gas. The treating unit includes an outer metal housing and first refractory layer within the metal housing for minimizing heat loss from the treatment unit. A second refractory layer is provided within the first refractory layer and defines an interior chamber within the treatment unit, and a plurality of heating units are spaced circumferentially along the interface of the first and second refractory layers. The heating units substantially minimize the temperature differential across the second refractory layer and thereby minimize the heat loss from the high temperature catalyst within the chamber. The catalyst is continually passed into and out from the chamber, and the sulfur-containing gas is injected into a lower portion of the chamber to pass through the high temperature bed formed by the catalyst.

  • Patent number: 4656457
Abstract: A position-sensing potentiometer arrangement for sensing the position of a movable piston and piston rod configuration within a linear actuator includes a first support member extending longitudinally within an open-ended recess formed in the rod and a sliding contact mounted thereon. A tubular support is mounted to a stationary closed end of the linear actuator and extends into the recess to surround a portion of the first support member and a center support member which is also mounted on the closed end of the a actuator. A longitudinally-extending resistance element and a parallel conductor element are mounted on and supported by the center support member. As the first support member moves through the tubular support, the sliding contacts couple the resistance element to the conductor element to provide a resistance value variable as a function of the position of the piston rod.
