Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to systems and methods that transfer heat directly from hot particles to a cold fluid, such as sCO2, by bringing the hot particles and cold fluid into direct contact at the operating pressure of the cold fluid. These systems and methods can both stand-off large pressure differentials while allowing particles to pass through and limiting cold fluid leakage either continuously or through a batch process.

Abstract: A dual tumble dryer unit that includes a housing that defines an interior, a divider that extends between first and second side walls and divides the interior into first and second sections, and first and second dryer assemblies that are positioned in the first and second sections. The first and second dryer assemblies each include a basket positioned to rotate about a horizontal axis, and a blower disposed positioned to blow air on the basket. A first drying path is defined between a first entry opening defined in the first side wall, the first basket and a first exit opening defined in the second side wall, and a second drying path is defined between a second entry opening defined in the first side wall, the second basket and a second exit opening defined in the second side wall.

Abstract: A double drum arrangement comprising a frame adjustment mechanism to adjust the second frame with respect to the first frame for adapting the gap between the first drum and the second drum, wherein the frame adjustment mechanism comprises a robust adjustment mechanism for adapting the gap within a predetermined robust tolerance and a precise adjustment mechanism for adapting the gap within a predetermined precise tolerance, wherein the precise tolerance is smaller than the robust tolerance. Further, an adjustable end stop is provided.
Abstract: A drying apparatus and a method for operating a drying apparatus are presented by means of which a considerable increase in efficiency is possible.

Abstract: A combination tumble and cabinet dryer appliance includes a housing with a tumble dryer and a cabinet dryer therein. The tumble dryer and cabinet dryer are operable independently of one another. Separate sources of hot air are provided to each of the tumble and cabinet dryers. The cabinet dryer extends over and along one side of the tumble dryer. A portion of the cabinet dryer extends substantially along the height of the housing so as to receive long hanging clothes, such as a dress. Removable shelves are provided in the cabinet dryer for drying sweaters and the like.

Abstract: A drying method, a drying device, and a drying machine, capable of remarkably reducing a drying time by assigning the standby time for an article to be dried to a preliminary drying time in drying, wherein hot air is supplied to the drying machine so as to dry the article to be dried and, at the same time, hot air exhausted from the drying machine is led into a preliminary drying machine so as to preliminarily dry the article to be dried before drying, and then the article to be dried contained in the preliminary drying machine is fed to the drying machine for drying.
Abstract: A food drying device of the type which includes an outer housing, a perforated main container in the housing and a drive apparatus on the housing for rotating the main container relative to the housing, includes a perforated auxiliary container disposable in the main container, and including an open-top bowl-shaped base and a removable lid. The bottom of the base has plural radial grooves which mate with radial ribs on the bottom of the main container so that they rotate together without slippage. A central hub on the main container lid is receivable in a central recess on the auxiliary container lid to limit relative axial movement.
Abstract: An apparatus for processing a solid-liquid material comprises a housing formed with a series of interconnected chambers defined by chamber walls with at least two drums mounted in series within the chambers. Each chamber receives one of the at least two drums for rotatable movement therein. Each chamber and the associated drum are dimensioned to define a region therebetween to retain the solid-liquid material. The regions of adjacent chambers communicate with each other to define a continuous passage from drum to drum through the apparatus. An inlet in the housing admits the solid-liquid material to the passage, and an outlet permits extraction of a processed solid-liquid material from the passage. Each drum rotates in a direction opposite to the adjacent drum to advance the solid-liquid material through the passage from drum to adjacent drum in a sinuous path such that the curvature of the solid-liquid material changes when passing from drum to adjacent drum.
Abstract: An apparatus and method for manufacture of asphaltic pavement from recycled asphalt pavement (RAP) and virgin rock and asphaltic materials is shown and described. This method utilizes efficient and controlled heat from a recirculating air impingement air dryer for heating of the RAP to a first temperature prior to the RAP being mixed with high temperature rock which is supplied from a rotating drum heater. The mixture of rock and RAP may comprise as much as 80% RAP because the RAP is preheated piror to the RAP rock mixing step.
