Abstract: A novel collapsible aeration system is retrofitted into a grain bin with a discharge opening in the bottom. This grain bin may have a sloped or conical hopper or a flat bottom. The aeration system is formed from a set of connected (e.g. hinged) duct sections that define a round or multi-sided duct having a minimum of three sides or faces. The sides may be flat, curved or corrugated. The collapsible aeration system is folded (collapsed), inserted into the bin via a hole, and then unfolded inside the bin. An air duct is connected to the aeration system to enable the aeration system to dry the grain in the grain bin. This technology enables existing grain bins to be retrofitted with a dryer in an easy and efficient manner.

Abstract: A mixing laundry dryer vane has a general profile which is scooped or “saddle” shaped. The mixing dryer vane has two relatively tall end portions and a reduced height central portion. The mixing dryer vane may have an upper surface that extends arcuately from one taller end portion to the other taller end portion. The arcuate shape may define along the length of the vane a relatively deep concavity which defines the reduced height central portion. The mixing dryer vane's taller end portions may be configured and positioned to cause “wiping” of clothes off and away from an exhaust duct grill within the dryer. The taller end portions of the vane may have a generally propeller-like twist that directs clothes towards the scooped central portion of the vane. The scooped mixing vane in combination with other non-scooped dryer vanes can reduce or eliminate the tendency of harmonic tumbling of a load.

The heat source apparatus is installed at an upper corner portion of an outer frame with a heater case supporting member. The heat source apparatus and the inhale port of the drum supporting member are communicated with a C-shaped form duct. The apparatus offers the advantage that the back flow and the accumulation of the lint etc. generated from the clothes in the rotative drum to the heat source apparatus can be prevented.

  • Patent number: 4817297
Abstract: A fabric dryer support structure serves multiple functions and facilitates dryer assembly. The dryer includes a drum, a panel supporting the open front end of the drum and a housing having front panel spaced from the open end of the drum. A unitary intermediate member bridges between the front panel and the drum, with an opening in the intermediate member in register with an access opening in the front panel and the open front end of the drum. A rim on the intermediate member is closely aligned with the front edge of the drum. The intermediate member also supports a filter in alignment with part of the drum opening.

  • Patent number: 4817298
Abstract: A fabric dryer includes an improved blower assembly, incorporating a tangential blower wheel and a blower housing formed by parts which serve additional functions in the dryer housing. The blower wheel is mounted forward of and the blower motor is mounted rearward of the panel supporting the front of the dryer drum. A member bridging between the front wall of the dryer housing and the front of the drum includes an elongated wall extending between and engaging the drum support panel and the housing front wall to form the blower housing and exit conduit for air leaving the blower housing.

  • Patent number: 4407078
Abstract: A drive system for rotary drum type drying apparatus including an axial air-gap induction motor mounted in the substantially central portion of a rear surface member of an outer case containing a rotary drum, a blower mounted on a rotor or a rotor shaft of the motor, and a speed reduction gear unit having an input connected to the rotor shaft and an output connected to the central portion of a rear wall of the rotary drum for rotating the rotary drum by transmitting the torque of the motor thereto while reducing the rotational speed. The structural arrangement that the motor, the blower fan, the speed reduction gear unit and the rotary drum are aligned with one another by the rotor shaft permits the drying apparatus to have an overall compact size while minimizing the number of necessary components parts and enabling the drying apparatus to be used in a long service life.
