  • Patent number: 7788822
Abstract: Disclosed is a drying apparatus equipped with linear drive mechanisms to drive spray nozzles in the direction perpendicular to the direction in which a wet object is transferred in the drying box. Each spray nozzle has a long discharge slit elongated in the direction in which the wet object is transferred. Two opposed nozzles are provided at each of the entrance and exit of the drying box. Each nozzle has an elongated slit traversing the width of the wet object in the direction perpendicular to the transporting direction, the opposed surfaces of the nozzles being so inwardly oblique that the gap between the opposed surfaces is larger at the inner edge than the outer edge.

  • Patent number: 7020983
Abstract: Instead of desiccating articles of clothing by spinning the articles, the method and apparatus according to the invention removes moisture from these articles by pressing or drying them with the aid of hot air. Desiccation of the clothing articles occurs gently and with a low expenditure of energy by subjecting the articles to the action of at least one gas jet and, in particular, of a compressed air jet, which is not aligned parallel to the surface of the article of clothing to exert a force upon the article. Advantageously, the article of clothing is subjected to the action of gas jets on both sides.

  • Patent number: 6502327
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a sterilizing liquid remover and a method of removing the sterilizing liquid which can easily remove/dry the sterilizing liquid which remains at the step portion formed by the sealing tape and the web which forms the container's interior side in the packing material web having the sealing tape adhered to its side end portion. Driblets on the surface of the web are squeezed by squeeze rollers 30 disposed such that they can open and close while sandwiching the transfer route of the web W having the sealing tape adhered to its side end portion therebetween, the heated air is blasted at the step portion formed by the sealing tape and the web by the second air knife 20, then the heated air is blasted at the whole width of both faces of the web by the first air knives 10, and the sterilizing liquid is removed.

  • Patent number: 5689900
Abstract: Air-blowing nozzles 21 for blowing a hot air are provided in both sides of an electrode sheet 33 for a battery both surfaces of which an electrode compounding agent has been applied to. In each of the air-blowing nozzles 21, a pair of slit-shaped blowholes 65 being extended in the width direction of the electrode sheet 33 are provided on both of the upper and lower sides of the end face part 63. The hot air blown off from a pair of the upper and lower blowholes 65 dries the electrode compounding agent as well as pressurizes a space between the electrode sheet 33 and the end face part 63 to form a pressure room P, and the left and right pressure rooms P hold the electrode sheet 33 to suppress its sway.

  • Patent number: 5570519
Abstract: A method and device for contact-free treatment of a web in which the web is treated, for example supported, reversed, spread, carried, and/or dried, by blowings which provide a carrier-face zone. The carrier-face zone has a curved form regulatable in a direction transverse to the direction of progress of the web. The nozzle-carrier face unit of the device is bent to the curved form in the cross direction of the machine while a frame part of the device is kept in a stationary position. The device includes a regulation arrangement for bending the nozzle-carrier-face unit to a curve form in the direction transverse to the running direction of the web while the frame part of the device is supported in a stationary position.
