Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus (1) for irradiating a substrate (2), which apparatus comprises a platform (4), which is straight or curved in relation to the longitudinal axis (3) of the platform (4), wherein one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten or more irradiation modules (6) and/or substrate supply air modules (36) and/or substrate exhaust air modules (37) are reversibly attachable directly or indirectly to the bottom side (8) of the platform (4) by sliding or inserting or mounting in one or more fixed or telescoping module attachment devices (10) provided on the bottom side (8) of the platform (4)—each extending from the front side (5) of the apparatus (1) and in the direction of the back side (9) of the apparatus (1).
Abstract: A drying apparatus usable with a printing system includes a housing, a first set of radiative heating elements, a second set of radiative heating elements, and an air handling device. The housing includes a front region and a rear region adjacent to the front region. The front region includes an inlet to receive media. The rear region includes an outlet to pass media there through. The first set of radiative heating elements is disposed within the front region to heat the media. The second set of radiative heating elements is disposed within the rear region to heat the media. The air handling device is disposed across from the second set of radiative heating elements to jet air within the rear region to cool the media prior to the media being passed through the outlet.

Abstract: A method and flotation dryer unit effects drying of a web such as a coated paper web. The flotation dryer unit advantageously includes several nozzle boxes extending across the web for feeding drying air toward the web to be dried, a distribution chamber for drying air for leading the dry air into the nozzle boxes, and a suction chamber for gathering the drying air led toward the web from the web area and for directing it to the side of the web. The suction chamber is divided into an equalizing space and an air transport chamber by a perforated plate for equalizing the return air flow occurring from the web area.

Abstract: A device is provided by the invention, with which it is possible to execute a method for the dye fixation in reactive dyeing of cellulose goods or cellulose fibers of all types in a dye liquor containing auxiliaries for binding the reactive dye to the cellulose fibers, wherein in an air dryer the cellulose goods which are padded with the dye liquor can be subjected to a retentive treatment of predetermined length with a predetermined steam content of the air in the drying chamber. In the device the residual moisture of the cellulose goods is maintained at a value as far as the outlet of the chamber in which the reaction of the dyestuff with cellulose fibers takes place. A defined steam content of the chamber air can simultaneously be continuously--even with light goods--regulated independently of the weight of the goods, i.e. also independently of the amount of water brought into the dryer with the goods.
Abstract: A longitudinal continuous kiln (1) for drying and vulcanizing rubber profiles includes a lower chamber (3), provided with a conveying belt (11), and an upper chamber (2), carrying hot air. A plurality of convectors (8) heated by the hot air of the upper chamber (2) are arranged aligned inside the upper chamber (2), each of the plurality of convectors furnished with a diffusing nozzle (9). A conduit with a plurality of unitary derivations (7) branched from the conduit (6) are connected to each of the plurality of convectors (8). Pressurized hot air, heated in the plurality of convectors, is delivered through the conduit (6) and is directed toward the lower chamber (3) for purposes of drying and vulcanizing rubber profiles (10).
Abstract: A device for drying printed webs or sheets in a printing press utilizes a blower box having a lower wall that is provided with an array of blower nozzles. Each nozzle is formed by a blower opening which is placed in a surface of the depression. The blower openings are oriented in a pattern that promotes complete and efficient paper web or sheet drying and tensioning.
Abstract: A drying apparatus includes a plurality of dryer modules, each module creating a drying zone and having a plurality of tubes disposed above and below an upper surface of a conveyor that supports a product within the apparatus for transport therethrough. At least one circulation fan in each module causes heated air to circulate to the tubes, which direct the air flow to impinge upon and dry the product. Each module also includes a burner for heating the air within the module to a desired temperature. The circulation fan and burner of each module are independently controllable, so that the apparatus can produce an air-flow rate and an air temperature in at least one of the drying zones different than the air-flow rate and air temperature in at least one other of the drying zones.
Abstract: A steam box includes a system for distributing steam onto a web being calendered. At least one valve is connected to the steam distributing system for controlling the flow of steam onto the web. The steam box also has element for feeding hot steam to the valve. Each valve has at least three steam channels, namely an inlet channel for feeding the steam to the valve, an outlet channel of the valve for feeding the steam onto the web and a recirculation channel for recirculating the steam. The valve also has a check element for controlling and dividing the incoming steam flow from the inlet channel between the outlet channel and recirculation channel of the valve, and a return pipe connected to the recirculation channels of the valves, capable of routing the steam directed to the recirculation channel of the valve to e.g., the condensate return line of the steam distributing system.
