  • Patent number: 11916566
Abstract: An NFC device that receive a data frame with a start pattern including first and second pattern signals, and a data pattern corresponding to the start pattern. The NFC device comprising an analog-to-digital converter which generates first and second input signals based on the first and second pattern signals, respectively, a modem that includes a first sub-matched filter which multiplies a first match signal by the first and second input signals to respectively calculate first and second result values of the first match signal and multiplies a second match signal by the first and second input signals to respectively calculate first and second result values of the second match signal. The first sub-matched filter determines reception of the start pattern when the first and second result values of the first match signal or the first and second result values of the second match signal exceed a predetermined start pattern threshold.

  • Patent number: 10346737
Abstract: A distributed multisensory system to record spatially diverse events configures a group of sensors searching sensed events utilizing random access search. The system utilizes presence and co-location detection to identify objects or people in an area. The system then processes audio signals utilizing a multimodal network and machine learning tiered with obfuscated text indexing to provide high-speed, high accuracy searching of stored data. In addition, the obfuscated text allows the system to not have to store an audio transcript, increasing the security of the system. The system utilizes beamforming to merge resultant audio streams for the recorded event.

  • Patent number: 8390425
Abstract: RFID readers, reader systems, and methods are provided that utilize double conversion for received tag response signals. A digitized signal is derived from the tag response signal by first shifting the response signal to about DC. The components of the digitized signal are then up converted and down converted and filtered such that only components around DC remain. The up converted and down converted signals may then be compared and one selected or the two combined after weighting to enhance demodulation and reduce circuit complexity.

  • Patent number: 8350665
Abstract: RFID tags are commanded to generate a pilot tone in their backscatter. When the backscattered pilot tone is received in the reader, the pilot tone is used to estimate the tag period/frequency. Then, the estimate is used to seed and lock a symbol timing recovery loop, which provides a detected signal to one or more correlators for detecting the tag preamble. A delayed version of the received tag signal is compared against a baseline signal threshold established from the received signal to detect the pilot tone.

  • Patent number: 6895311
Abstract: A method and a device for recording the curve of information. The information is scanned using a specifiable scanning period. The information is specifically the operating data of a motor vehicle. The scanned information is subjected to a data reduction, and then the reduced information is stored. To record the curve of relevant digital information, in particular, of the operating data of a motor vehicle, so as to use the least possible storage space, it is proposed that, in the context of the data reduction, the curve of the scanned information be viewed in a time raster of a multiple of the scanning period, and, within the individual raster increments, at least one characteristic variable of the curve of the scanned information be determined. The device is advantageously a component part of a control device for controlling/regulating specific motor-vehicle components or of an operating- or accident-data recorder of a motor vehicle.
