Sliding Sign Or Shutter Patents (Class 340/484)
  • Patent number: 11654820
Abstract: Method and apparatus for a laterally extendable backup light system for placement on the trailer of the 18-wheeler tractor trailer truck. The backup light would be mounted underneath an outer edge of the trailer of the tractor-trailer so that it would be extendable laterally away from the edge of the trailer so that the light portion would extend far enough outwardly to travel beyond the outer edge of the trailer so that the beam of light emanating therefrom would illuminate the area behind the rear of the trailer. A linear actuator controlled wirelessly or via hardwire by the driver of the truck would actuate the light portion of the device so that the light portion would extend from an enclosure beyond the edge of the trailer of the truck-trailer or would be retracted back into the enclosure.

  • Patent number: 11395142
Abstract: Techniques described herein are directed to a system and methods for issuing commands to an electronic device as well as techniques for transferring a device key to a user device associated with a user who has gained authorization to issue commands to the electronic device. In some embodiments, a device key may be conveyed directly from an access device to a user device. In some embodiments, the device key may be conveyed to a user device by a mobile application server which is in communication with the user device upon receiving an indication that an operator of the user device is authorized to issue commands to the electronic device.

  • Patent number: 7696865
Abstract: An electronic message board includes a housing removably affixed to an interior surface of a selected window of a vehicle. Such housing is visible to another driver during driving conditions and includes a back wall with front and rear planar surfaces respectively and a first electrically conductive plate with a planar rear surface directly attached to the front surface of the back wall. The message board further includes a light display removably interfitted within the housing, a light emitting diode array, a transparent faceplate with predetermined indicia formed in a front surface thereof, and a mechanism for selectively actuating the light display.

  • Patent number: 5771616
Abstract: A display element has a disk which rotates on an axis to show its bright or dark side in the viewing direction. When the bright side is showing the disk allows passage of light from an LED. When the dark side is showing the disk masks the light from the LED. Preferably, an opaque shroud surrounds the LED and projects a short distance forwardly thereof to help define the cone in which light from the LED may be viewed in ON position. A side wall or said element projects forwardly of the rotation axis to mask the escape of light on that side transverse to the viewing direction. A second side wall may be placed on the other side for the same purpose or the adjacent element may provide the second wall.

  • Patent number: 5589814
Abstract: Considering the latest vehicle anti-theft systems and anti-theft warning systems that abound today, the theft of vehicles has not been slowed down to any appreciable amount. In fact, the car theft industry lids virtually kept pace with the car manufacturing industry. This invention has taken a common sense and practical approach to an anti-vehicle theft system that renders the front windshield opaque when the ignition switch is turned on and the vehicle is attempted to be stolen, while the security control switch is placed in the "on" mode. One embodiment was a thermopane type windshield with a space between two plates of unbreakable glass. The space between the two plates of glass has an opaque curtain or blind pulled up inside the void space from the bottom of the windshield to the top of the windshield to render the entire windshield opaque. Another embodiment is to provide several optional features that may be purchased by persons with limited funds although these options are not really required.

  • Patent number: 4907117
Abstract: An integrated circuit is disclosed having a thermal shutdown capability. A single chip bonding pad is coupled to a circuit that will operate the bonding pad at a low potential for normal conditions and will pull it high when a temperature threshold is crossed. Thus, the normally low bonding pad provides a temperature flag. The bonding pad is also coupled to a latch that will hold it high and to a lockout circuit that acts to disable the heat producing chip circuitry. Therefore, when the bonding pad is once driven high the circuits are locked out and will remain out until a start up command is present. This is achieved by either momentarily removing the power supply or by pulling the bonding pad low. Both manual and computer control of the circuit is disclosed.
