  • Patent number: 9691091
Abstract: Matches for transportation services with transportation service providers (TSPs) and providing tracking are combined with an option for location tracking of the load or transportation service. Bids are accepted for transportation services and, on acceptance, a request is made for the TSP or driver “opt-in” to location tracking through a mobile device. The system automatically communicates with the driver to confirm acceptance of mobile telephone tracking (opt-in) and location tracking is initiated. The location is reported according to a threshold, along with updated estimates of pick-up and of completion of delivery. The tracking provides substantially a “24/7” access to the location and updated estimated completion of delivery. Upon completion of delivery, the tracking is terminated (automatic opt-out).

  • Patent number: 9679171
Abstract: RF tags using source addresses to locate stations on a Wi-Fi network are secured. An RF location server receives a pseudo source address of an RF (radio frequency) tag from a station. The station obtains the pseudo source address while being within radio range of the RF tag and the station receiving a beacon frame from the RF tag. A source address for the RF tag is looked-up utilizing the pseudo source address, and a specific location for the RF tag is looked-up utilizing the source address. Some embodiments store the locations in association with the pseudo address. Either way, the specific location of the station is identified based on the source address of the RF tag. An action is determined in response to at least the specific location of the station. Information related to the action is sent to the station for output to a user of the station. For example, a location-based offer or service can be provided in real-time with a consumer's presence to relevant products or services.

Abstract: Systems and methods for a localization system are provided. In one aspect, a RF signature map for a geographical area is determined using a Gaussian Process (“GP”) model. Training RF measurements are taken at some locations within the area to train the GP using the Firefly Algorithm (“FA”). The RF measurements for other locations of the area are predicted using the conditional probabilities of the trained GP and without taking RF measurements at those other locations. The RF signature map is used for fingerprinting localization. In one aspect, a reference RF signature map is constructed for one, some, or all access points (“APs”) covering the area. A location of a user device, such as, for example, a smart phone, is then estimated by comparing the RF signals received by the user device from one or more APs with the determined one or more reference RF signature maps using a combined likelihood function.

The first and second sets of motion data are compared to determine a motion consistency metric. An alert signal is generated responsive to the motion consistency metric being less than a predetermined threshold.

Abstract: A method for determining a status of a user of an electronic device. The method includes a computer processor determining information associated with a first user of an electronic device. The method further includes identifying a plurality of electronic devices that are within a range of wireless communications to the electronic device. The method further includes defining an area monitored by the electronic device. The method further includes monitoring a group of the identified plurality of electronic devices that are within the defined area. The method further includes calculating a first safe-threshold value for the electronic device based on information associated with a first user of an electronic device and monitored information from the group of the identified plurality of electronic devices. The method further includes determining a status for the first user based, at least in part, on the calculated first safe-threshold value for the electronic device.

Abstract: Systems and methods configured to form and point beams from an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) toward target cells in a coverage area on the ground. One embodiment determines and forms the required number of UAV fixed beams needed to cover the target area when UAV is at its highest altitude and highest roll/pitch/yaw angles so that the target coverage area is covered under all UAV altitude and orientation conditions. In another embodiment, UAV determines the beam pointing angles toward different cells on the ground using information on position coordinates and orientation angles of the UAV, and the position coordinates of the cells in the coverage area relative to the center of coverage area. In another embodiment, a reference terminal placed at the center of coverage is used by the UAV to optimally point a beam toward center of the coverage area.

  • Patent number: 9564962
Abstract: A telematics server manages meeting request messages sent from, and to, a vehicle-coupled device. The server performs authentication services when a subscriber logs in to the server from the vehicle-coupled device, or with a device associated with the subscriber's telematics services account. Upon login, the server may append a session identifier to the request message. After the message passes through the server, an application running on a device remote from the vehicle receives the request message and accepts user input that permits the remote device to transmit its current location to the vehicle-coupled device in a confirmation message according to the session identifier. The telematics server can use the session identifier to determine the destination address of the vehicle-coupled device to forward the confirmation message to. The vehicle-coupled device displays the remote user device location on a map. The request and confirmation messages may include a media content file.
