  • Patent number: 11645902
Abstract: A method of preventing loss of headphones configured to communicate with a cell phone enables an alarm setting using an app on the cell phone; the app responding by continuously measuring a received magnitude of a wireless signal transmitted between the cell phone and the headphones. If the measured received magnitude is lower than a predetermined threshold value for a first predetermined time, an audible alarm is activated at the headphones. The continuous measurement and the activation of the alarm dependent on the measured received magnitude occur automatically, independent of any user interaction with the app after the alarm setting enablement. Another method addresses a corresponding issue in a similar way to prevent loss of one earbud of a pair.

Abstract: Systems and methods are presented for monitoring shipping containers. A system comprises a shipping container, a sensing component, and a transmission device. The shipping container defines an interior compartment. The sensing component is positioned within the interior compartment and comprises one or more sensors, a sensing component battery, a sensing component microcontroller, and a communication chip. The one or more sensors sense atmospheric data. The sensing component microcontroller has a memory and receives the atmospheric data sensed by the one or more sensors at a predetermined interval and stores the atmospheric data in the memory. The transmission device is external to the interior compartment and comprises a receiver and a transmitter. The receiver receives data transmitted by the sensing component. The transmitter transmits the received data to a storage location. The transmission device is paired with the sensing component or an interior component contained within the interior compartment.

Abstract: The present disclosure discloses a method and a system for identifying goods of intelligent shopping cart. The method comprises: reading bar code information of a to-be-purchased goods and obtaining corresponding prestored goods information; continuously detecting and obtaining a total goods weight mn+1 in the shopping cart, and comparing the total goods weight mn+1 with a total goods weight mn acquired after a previous purchasing action is completed, to obtain a variation m? of the total goods weight. According to the method of the present disclosure, when a customer puts a goods in the shopping cart in the shopping course, the correct goods is automatically identified and recorded in a shopping list, then the customer can directly settle the account after completing the shopping, accordingly a lot of time for the customers to wait for the settlement is saved.

Abstract: Transmitting a radio frequency identification (RFID) interrogation signal into an RFID interrogation zone of an Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) system. Detecting at least one response signal from a first RFID tag of the EAS system responding to the interrogation signal. Capturing, at one or more times in a window of time around the detection, sensor data within a sensor field, the sensor field and the RFID interrogation zone overlapping to form a zone of interest. Characterizing movement of a non-tag object during the window of time based on the captured sensor data. Determining whether the first RFID tag is associated with the characterized non-tag object based on a comparison of the at least one response signal and the characterized movement of the non-tag object.

  • Patent number: 11297478
Abstract: The disclosure describes a crowd-sourced, social network and geo-location based system for enhancing personal safety via users' mobile devices. The system shares information (including images, video, and/or audio) about crimes, fires, accidents and public safety-related events and their geo-locations. Users selectively receive notifications for such events in a map view based on the events' proximity to users or on whether the notification was initiated by a person in the users' social network. The system also shares users' status and geo-location information with previously identified persons or with all persons in their social network to let them know their geo-location and/or when they have reached a destination. Through the system's operation, a user can cause sending of a distress signal to pre-identified persons, groups within their social network, or others who are within a pre-established distance. Additionally, the system can send a distress signal if the user fails to check in.

Abstract: Position of a transceiver is calibrated using a pair of calibration devices spaced from the transceiver and each other. A calibration wave signal is emitted from one of the calibration devices and detected by the transceiver as well as the other calibration device. The transceiver generates a response wave signal upon receipt of the calibration wave signal which response wave signal is detected by one of the calibration devices. A delay constant for use in distance determination between transceivers is calculated based on the sum of detected transmission and receipt time intervals and the propagation speed of the wave signals.
