  • Patent number: 9621661
Abstract: An improved system and method for defining an event based upon an object location and a user-defined zone and managing the conveyance of object location event information among computing devices where object location events are defined in terms of a condition based upon a relationship between user-defined zone information and object location information. One or more location information sources are associated with an object to provide the object location information. One or more user-defined zones are defined on a map and one or more object location events are defined. The occurrence of an object location event produces object location event information that is conveyed to users based on user identification codes. Accessibility to object location information, zone information, and object location event information is based upon an object location information access code, a zone information access code, and an object location event information access code, respectively.

  • Patent number: 9615545
Abstract: A custom-shaped wireless fence system is provided that contains one or more dogs in a user-defined containment area without the need for a physical fence or underground wire. The system, which is easy to set up and use, includes at least three base units and at least one collar and, preferably, a remote controller. A virtual fence is defined around the containment area, as well as around optional exclusion zones within the containment area, during system set up through communication between the base units and a trackable device as the user walks around the desired border. Visualization software enables the user to verify that the location of the fence is as desired and that the system is operating properly using a computing device having a display screen. In use, the system employs improved filtering of consecutive distance measurement values taken between the base units and the collar to discount errant measurement values in terms of their contribution to the current calculation of the dog's location.

  • Patent number: 9611625
Abstract: An industrial machine that includes a plurality of components, an identification tag reader, an actuator, and a controller. The plurality of components is installed in the industrial machine and each of the plurality of components includes an identification tag. The identification tag reader is receives a signal from each of the plurality of identification tags, and each signal received from the plurality of identification tags is specific to a respective one of the plurality of components. The controller identifies the plurality of components that is installed in the industrial machine based on the signals from each of the plurality of identification tags, compares the identified plurality of components to a predetermined list of components that are expected to be installed in the industrial machine, and modifies an operational setting of an operating parameter when the identified plurality of components does not match the predetermined list of components.

  • Patent number: 9615233
Abstract: System and method of managing distribution of alert messages to a plurality of presentation devices. The system enables receiving an alert distribution request from an alerting source, including emergency situation data and indication of an area associated with the emergency situation, creating an alert message corresponding to the alert distribution request and identifying broadcasting operators, which enable distributing the alert message in the emergency area. Once the alert message is created and the broadcasting operators are identified, the system forwards the alert message to the identified broadcasting operators. The broadcasting operators broadcast the alert message to the plurality of presentation devices such as mobile devices, TV sets, radio devices, and the like.

  • Patent number: 9614614
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer readable media for locating a physical connector module are disclosed. According to one aspect, the subject matter described herein a method that includes selecting, via a locator beacon activation control function, a physical connector module to be located. The method further includes communicating, from the locator beacon activation control function, a locator beacon activation signal to a locator beacon activation client function included in the selected physical connector module and, in response to receiving the locator beacon activation signal at the locator beacon activation client function, triggering a transmission of a locator beacon from the selected physical connector module.

  • Patent number: 9600992
Abstract: A system for making sure that two wireless devices (a perimeter-anchoring device and a constrained device) are not separated too far apart by having a dynamic perimeter that follows the perimeter-anchoring device as it moves. In some embodiments, the size and/or shape of the perimeter is controlled by machine logic based rules, based at least in part, upon a set of environmental factor(s). Some possible environmental factors include: line of sight, pollution, noise level, presence of stranger(s), streets, traffic, body(ies) of water, contamination, allergen, or blocking obstruction(s).

  • Patent number: 9602984
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for user notification of normative device output settings of a plurality of mobile computing devices operating in locale. For example, a system includes a service provider, and a computing device. The computing device transmits its current locale and device output settings information to the service provider. The service provider utilizes such information to determine a normative of device output settings of registered computing devices operating in the locale, and generates a notification message that is sent to the computing device, which comprises the normative of device output settings in the locale. The computing device presents the notification message to a user of the computing device so that the user can determine whether or not a device output setting of the computing device complies with the normative of device output settings in the locale.

  • Patent number: 9602993
Abstract: A system processes a series of incoming message to generate an outgoing message. In exemplary embodiments, the incoming messages comprise a first event from a wearable holster configured to accept a weapon, then receiving a second event from the wearable holster. The first signal and second signal are compared based on their respective content. The received signals derive from sensor data such as a switch, an accelerometer, a GPS sensor, a wrist device, a head device. The comparison invokes additional processing to determine the contents of a message to be sent to at least one recipient. Contents of messages are captured into a learning model, and when comparing contents of the first signal to contents of the second signal comprises the learning model is used to generate a prediction that causes an alert to be emitted.
