Machine Condition Patents (Class 340/679)
  • Patent number: 11222524
Abstract: Apparatus and associated methods relate to dual safety touch button systems for generating machine operation commands, according to predetermined safety guidelines, from status information received via an intercommunications link (ICL) operably connecting the dual safety touch buttons (STBs). In an illustrative example, each of a pair of STBs includes a processor configured to receive, via an intercommunications link port, status information from the other STB. In response to the received information and predetermined safety guidelines, the STBs may generate machine operation commands that operate a pair of relay switches. In some embodiments, each STB may be activated within a substantially simultaneous period (e.g., less than 0.5 seconds) to actuate corresponding relay switches for operating a potentially dangerous machine.

Abstract: A wake-up circuit and method are provided for detecting and preventing false positive wake-up events in an electronic device in a sleep mode. Methodology entails producing first, second, and third sensor signals at successive first, second, and third instants in time in response to a physical stimulus detected by a sensor of the wake-up circuit. The first sensor signal is selected to be a reference value. A first difference value is determined between the second sensor signal land the reference value, a second difference value is determined between the third sensor signal and the reference value, and communication of a wake-up signal to the electronic device is prevented when at least one of the first and second difference values fails to exceed a threshold value.

Abstract: An excavator managing device has a communication device, a storage device, and a processing device. The processing device receives machine identification information of an excavator and operation information representing the operation status of the excavator from the excavator through the communication device. In addition, machine identification information of an excavator and failure classification information of the excavator are received from a support device through the communication device. Thereafter, the failure classification information and the operation information are stored in the storage device in association with each other. With the excavator managing device having this configuration, past repair experience can be easily applied to future repair operations.

Abstract: A system for optimizing network traffic is described. The system includes a plurality of appliances, each having an SSL session exchange module. An appliance in active state is called a primary appliance, and one or more appliances in inactive state are called secondary appliances. An appliance of a cluster of appliances comprises a secure session exchange module and one or more network interfaces configured to facilitate a first secure session between a client device and the appliance and a second secure session between the appliance and a server. The secure session exchange module in a primary appliance is configured to provide a message for sending to one or more secondary appliances. The message indicates that the appliance is acting as a primary instance for a server. The secure session exchange module in the primary appliance is also configured to acquire at least one session-related parameter through a handshake procedure for a secure layer with the server.

Abstract: A self-contained clutch for diesel engines for off-highway implementation is provided. A stationary friction disc, pressure plate and endplate sandwich a pair of rotating separator discs. Attenuation of vibration damping of the rotator discs may be achieved by a centrifugal weight. A pulse-width-modulated DC motor or valve is employed in association with a hydraulic actuator to control pressure to the clutch piston. An RFID tag uniquely identifies the nature and parameters of the clutch itself and is associated with the clutch such that the controller can most efficiently operate the clutch. Heat is dissipated by an oil pump servicing the support bearings and/or by the integration of a centrifugal fan into the heat disc stack.

  • Patent number: 10189319
Abstract: An improved method for a passenger car tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), including improvements of a direct TPMS or an indirect TPMS technique. The direct TPMS uses a dynamic tire pressure reference as a tire pressure determination basis, and monitors the real-time tire load, e.g., when the wheel load changes, the TPMS data processing center takes the tire cold inflation pressure data corresponding to the real-time load as the current tire pressure reference, and performs determinations and warnings for the real-time tire pressure data. The indirect TPMS establishes a wheel speed reference database based on a vehicle speed reference, and conducts compensations and corrections for wheel speed distortions caused by the tire wear in use, and performs an analysis and comparison between the compensated and modified real-time wheel speed and the data from the wheel speed reference database, and makes a real-time tire pressure information indication or warning.

  • Patent number: 10192283
Abstract: This invention provides a system and method for determining the level of clutter in an image in a manner that is rapid, and that allows a scoring process to quickly determine whether an image is above or below an acceptable level of clutter—for example to determine if the underlying imaged runtime object surface is defective without need to perform a more in-depth analysis of the features of the image. The system and method employs clutter test points that are associated with regions on the image that should contain a low gradient magnitude, indicative of emptiness. This enables the runtime image to be analyzed quickly by mapping trained clutter test points at locations in the coordinate space in which lack of emptiness indicates clutter, and if detected, can rapidly indicate differences and/or defects that allow for the subject of the image to be accepted or rejected without further image analysis.
