  • Patent number: 10189319
Abstract: An improved method for a passenger car tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), including improvements of a direct TPMS or an indirect TPMS technique. The direct TPMS uses a dynamic tire pressure reference as a tire pressure determination basis, and monitors the real-time tire load, e.g., when the wheel load changes, the TPMS data processing center takes the tire cold inflation pressure data corresponding to the real-time load as the current tire pressure reference, and performs determinations and warnings for the real-time tire pressure data. The indirect TPMS establishes a wheel speed reference database based on a vehicle speed reference, and conducts compensations and corrections for wheel speed distortions caused by the tire wear in use, and performs an analysis and comparison between the compensated and modified real-time wheel speed and the data from the wheel speed reference database, and makes a real-time tire pressure information indication or warning.

  • Patent number: 10192283
Abstract: This invention provides a system and method for determining the level of clutter in an image in a manner that is rapid, and that allows a scoring process to quickly determine whether an image is above or below an acceptable level of clutter—for example to determine if the underlying imaged runtime object surface is defective without need to perform a more in-depth analysis of the features of the image. The system and method employs clutter test points that are associated with regions on the image that should contain a low gradient magnitude, indicative of emptiness. This enables the runtime image to be analyzed quickly by mapping trained clutter test points at locations in the coordinate space in which lack of emptiness indicates clutter, and if detected, can rapidly indicate differences and/or defects that allow for the subject of the image to be accepted or rejected without further image analysis.

  • Patent number: 9310439
Abstract: An apparatus includes a voltage sensor, a current sensor, and a controller. The voltage sensor measures voltage values of alternating current power supplied to a capacitor. The capacitor is electrically coupled to a compressor. The current sensor measures current values of the alternating current power. The controller is configured to receive the voltage values and the current values. The controller is configured to determine a first power factor value based on at least one of the voltage values and at least one of the current values. The controller is configured to selectively detect a first capacitor fault in response to concurrent determination that (i) the first power factor value is less than a first power factor threshold and (ii) a first current value of the current values is greater than a first current threshold. The first capacitor fault indicates that a capacitance of the capacitor has degraded.

  • Patent number: 9290908
Abstract: A hybrid construction machine is capable of performing satisfactory operations even when trouble occurs that disables the electric motor from outputting torque. The hybrid construction has both a hydraulic motor and an electric motor driving the swing structure and a controller for switching between a hydraulic/electric hybrid swing mode (using both the hydraulic motor and the electric motor) and a hydraulic-alone swing mode (using only the hydraulic motor). The switching is executed while achieving satisfactory operability and performance in each mode. Normally, an energy saving operation is performed in the hydraulic/electric hybrid swing mode. When the electric amount of an electricity storage device has gone out of a prescribed range or an abnormality has occurred in an electric system (e.g., failure of an inverter), the swing mode is switched to the hydraulic-alone swing mode so that driving with normal braking torque is possible by the hydraulic motor alone.

  • Patent number: 9224205
Abstract: A reference in an unknown environment is generated on the fly for positioning and tracking. The reference is produced in a top down process by capturing an image of a planar object with a predefined geometric shape, detecting edge pixels of the planar object, then detecting a plurality of line segments from the edge pixels. The plurality of line segments may then be used to detect the planar object in the image based on the predefined geometric shape. An initial pose of the camera with respect to the planar object is determined and tracked using the edges of the planar object.

  • Patent number: 9140727
Abstract: A current monitor is described that indicates a condition of attached electrical equipment. The current monitor can determine a predetermined range in which current being withdrawn by the attached electrical apparatus lies. Based on the determined range, corresponding display electronic elements, such as light emitting diodes (LEDs), can be activated. Activated LEDs of a particular color can indicate corresponding conditions of the electrical equipment. The condition of the electrical equipment along with other parameters, such as associated time ranges and other values, can be transmitted via a wired or wireless connection to a software system implemented on a wireless device such that a continuous monitoring and an analysis can be performed remotely. Related apparatus, systems, techniques and articles are also described.

  • Patent number: 9120356
Abstract: Estimating a load bearing on a vehicle tire includes an inflation pressure measuring sensor for measuring tire inflation pressure and generating a measured tire inflation pressure signal; a deformation measuring sensor mounted in a tire region of the vehicle tire, the deformation measuring sensor in the form of a piezoelectric bending sensor generating a deformation signal estimating a length of a tire contact patch length as the senor rolls through a tire footprint. Tire rolling speed is estimated from the deformation signal and a peak to peak amplitude variation within the deformation signal is detected and measured. An artificial neural network receives the tire rolling speed estimation, the contact patch length estimation, the amplitude variation within the deformation signal, and the measured inflation pressure of the tire. The artificial neural network adaptively interprets the input data and generates an output load estimation based thereon.

Abstract: A stability control system for an engineering machine and a control method are provided. The stability control system includes a detection device (1), a control device (2) and an alarm device (3). The detection device (1) detects the current center-of-gravity positions of each component of the engineering machine to obtain the center-of-gravity position signals of each component and transmits the center-of-gravity position signals to the control device (2). The control device (2) receives the center-of-gravity position signals from the detection device (1), calculates the center-of-gravity position of the engineering machine according to a center-of-gravity calculation strategy, and compares it with a preset balance range. The control device (2) controls the alarm device (3) for warning when the center-of-gravity position of the engineering machine exceeds the balance range.
