  • Patent number: 7193514
Abstract: A child resistant closure cap for preventing the inadvertent consumption of pharmaceutical products, bleaches or other products by children or other minors. The child resistant closure cap can be easily removed by adults and elderly persons and uses intrinsic biometric (physical dimension) human attributes to differentiate between adults and children instead of relying on differences in ability. In use, the present invention senses electronically the size of the thumb, forefinger or middle finger, or hand crotch, prior to unlatching the closure cap. The sensors are provided using at least one piezoelectric transducer which performs both functions of detecting the biometric attributes of the user, and by doing so, also generates and stores electrical energy by virtue of the piezoelectric effect.

  • Patent number: 6924732
Abstract: A power monitoring section detects the interruption of AC electric power from a power line, and switches operating power within a camera to power from a battery. A control section sets control of the camera to a different mode at the power stopping time. The operation is controlled to pick-up one static image at constant time intervals, and sequentially stores the static image to a data storage section. A voice section stops collecting sounds. The control section stops communication with a master set. When the AC electric power is restored the operating power is switched to the electric power from the power line. When a user utilizing the master set knows the restoration of the power, the user gives commands for reading image information stored during the power stoppage to the camera, and monitors the state during the interruption of the AC electric power.

The power state detector can differentiate between a power failure in a traffic head and a main power supply failure. Upon a power failure, the LED traffic signal light and the alternative power source are disconnected from the main power supply lines. The LED traffic signal light may be 8 or 12 inches in diameter having an S-base, screw-in or Type II design and is placed into a flash mode for between about 12 hours and about 24 hours, or until normal power is restored. A coded signal is communicated to provide indication of a true main power supply failure.

Abstract: A repository including: an input unit (3) for setting the temperature of the interior (2) of a repository (1); a measuring unit (5,6) for measuring the temperature of the interior of the repository (1); a controller (4) for holding ID data to specify the repository itself and communicatively outputting the measurement data to the external; and an auxiliary power source (13) for communicating the measurement data to the external even during interruption of power supply. A central controller 11 for collecting the measured data from each repository and judging whether abnormality occurs or not is connected to plural repositories to fabricate a monitoring system. When abnormality is detected, the measured data as well as ID data and time data are transmitted to a user through the Internet.
