Abstract: In some implementations, a system enables an administrator to customize a set of rules to dynamically adjust the configuration and output of an application provided to users. A configuration interface for setting rules that dynamically adjust output of an application is provided. Data indicating one or more rules are received through the configuration interface. Activity data indicating user interaction with the application or sensor data for at least some of a plurality of users of the application are then received from multiple client devices. A determination relating to the activity data satisfying at least one condition or trigger is then made. Instructions to adjust output of the application according to one or more system actions of the one or more rules are then communicated to client devices associated with the users in the first subset of the plurality of users.

  • Patent number: 9664815
Abstract: A method and system for transmitting data through a transmission medium in a wellbore. A surface transceiver and a subsurface transceiver are each configured to selectively transmit over a plurality of transmission channels. The surface transceiver is adapted to initialize a channel to determine at least one parameter affecting the current maximum data rate for transmission of information through the channel using a given transmission methodology. At least one of the channels uses carrierless phase/amplitude (CAP) modulation for its transmission methodology. The surface transceiver and the subsurface transceiver adapt to cooperatively periodically test a channel by transmission of a calibration signal from the subsurface transceiver to the surface transceiver. Control circuitry compares the received calibration signal with the calibration signal, responding to the result of the comparison to adjust at least one parameter as necessary to achieve an optimum rate of data transmission through said channel.

  • Patent number: 8655104
Abstract: A method for removing cyclic noise from a borehole image includes transforming the image into the frequency domain using a two-dimensional (2-D) Fourier Transform, removing cyclic noise components from the transformed image, and inverse transforming the image back into the spatial domain using an inverse 2-D Fourier Transform. The cyclic noise component may also be isolated by subtracting the corrected image from the original image or by removing all non-cyclic noise components from the transformed image prior to inverse transforming. Removal of the cyclic noise from a borehole image tends to enable the identification of borehole features and provide for improved accuracy in formation parameter evaluation. Evaluation of the cyclic noise component may also enable the source of the noise to be identified and mitigated.
