  • Patent number: 11022473
Abstract: A sensor assembly is described herein that can automatically calibrate itself upon installation into an empty bin, eliminating the need to actually fill the bin to calibrate the level reading. The sensor will provide consistent measurement regardless of material properties (permittivity, density, temperature or moisture content). The capacitive nature of the sensor means that in some circumstances, it will sense the material through plastic/glass/fiber glass thereby allowing the sensor assembly to be mountable on the outside of a bin or container. The electrodes of the sensor system are designed to provide a continuous level reading.

In addition, the switcher transmits, to the extractor/signal determiner, the converted voltage signal when a converted voltage signal determiner determines that the converted voltage signal is generated by transmission of a voltage signal over a communication line, in the meantime, performs a switch-over so as not to transmit, to the extractor/signal determiner, the converted current signal generated by the current-voltage converter.

  • Patent number: 10209117
Abstract: Measuring, controlling, and automating inventory of product stored in a collapsible tank. An interface device can interact with a sensor installed at the collapsible tank and a metering device, such as a flow meter, to generate a strap table for the collapsible tank. The strap table can include entries that correlate a process value measured by the sensor to a volume of product corresponding to that process value. Current volume of product stored in the collapsible tank can be determined by comparing a current process value to entries in the strap table or by an interpolation process. The interface device can generate an updated strap table based on a relaxation curve to account for settling of the collapsible tank. The interface device can synchronize data with a host device, such as a personal computer or handheld computer, that includes software for tracking inventory in collapsible tanks.

  • Patent number: 9933298
Abstract: Light exposure from at least one light source is received with a light detector of a light monitor that includes at least one of (a) an output device and (b) a communication device transported by a user. The light detector converts the light exposure into an electrical signal, and the current time of day at which the light exposure is received is recorded. An instantaneous light exposure value is generated from the electrical signal, and a weighting function is applied to the instantaneous light exposure value as a function of the recorded time of day associated with the light exposure to produce a weighted instantaneous light exposure value. The weighted instantaneous light exposure value is integrated to produce a weighted cumulative luminous exposure value; and the weighted cumulative luminous exposure value is compared with an established luminous-exposure target.
