  • Patent number: 10311694
Abstract: A system is provided for event-based monitoring of a subject's well-being within an unattended setting. A plurality of sensors are disposed within the setting for sensing disparate events, and an analytics processing portion is coupled to the sensors to collectively acquire sensing data therefrom, and map a plurality of sensed data points for a selected combination of disparate events to a conduct adaptively characterized for the subject. The mapping occurs according to a set of pre-established reference event patterns, relative to which each characterized conduct is screened for excessive aberration. The analytics processing portion actuates generation of a graphic user interface displaying at least one reporting page. The reporting page contains for each characterized conduct certain graphic indicia determined responsive to the screening thereof.

  • Patent number: 10209117
Abstract: Measuring, controlling, and automating inventory of product stored in a collapsible tank. An interface device can interact with a sensor installed at the collapsible tank and a metering device, such as a flow meter, to generate a strap table for the collapsible tank. The strap table can include entries that correlate a process value measured by the sensor to a volume of product corresponding to that process value. Current volume of product stored in the collapsible tank can be determined by comparing a current process value to entries in the strap table or by an interpolation process. The interface device can generate an updated strap table based on a relaxation curve to account for settling of the collapsible tank. The interface device can synchronize data with a host device, such as a personal computer or handheld computer, that includes software for tracking inventory in collapsible tanks.

Abstract: A system and method is disclosed herein for monitoring and alerting on equipment errors. A server may receive data on a periodic basis. The data is indicative of operational states of at least one machine. The server may then analyze a quality issue associated with the received data over an alert period greater than one day, determine a type of the quality issue, and generate a warning message including an indication of the quality issue and the type of the quality issue.

Abstract: An article, system and method related to a magnetomechanical marker used to mark stationary assets. Magnetomechanical markers can be arranged in clusters and associated with stationary assets, including assets buried underground. Markers can be associated with an asset by being attached to the asset, arranged in a particular spatial relationship with the asset, or in any other appropriate way. A portable locating device can be used to generate an alternating magnetic field to activate the magnetomechanical marker and thus locate the asset.

Abstract: An earthquake warning disaster prevention and safety report-back system comprises a servo host group constituted by servo hosts and a mobile communication device. When an earthquake is formed, the servo hosts that are distributed by location in Taiwan are utilized for simultaneously receiving earthquake real-time data information transmitted from the Central Weather Bureau, using the servo hosts to evaluate a physical location of a client, and using one servo host that is located at an optimum (nearest) site to distributively transmit earthquake real-time data information to the mobile communication device of the client. When the mobile communication device receives the earthquake information, the mobile communication device transmits a warning message to the client and provides earthquake magnitude and an earthquake wave arrival time of the physical location as instructions to perform prevention and escape measures, thereby seizing the recuse golden hour.

  • Patent number: 8976038
Abstract: A security device for detecting the position of a manhole cover includes a pinger device, such as an acoustic pinger, that transmits a signal in the direction of the expected position of the manhole cover. The device takes energy samples to determine if the signal has been reflected back by the manhole cover. If the device determines the signal has not been reflected, it determines that the manhole cover has been moved from the expected position. In response, the device captures an image of an area around the expected position of the manhole cover. In addition, the device can notify a remote security station via a network that the manhole cover has been moved.

Abstract: A method of monitoring biometric data for an individual includes sensing a biometric parameter of the individual with a sensor carried by the individual. The method further comprises detecting that the individual has moved within a predetermined range of a fixed display device, and then wirelessly transmitting the sensed biometric parameter to a receiver associated with the fixed display device after the detection that the individual has moved within the predetermined range. The sensed biometric parameter of the individual is then displayed on the fixed display device. Thereafter, the fixed display device detects that the individual has moved outside of the predetermined range and removes the sensed biometric parameter of the individual from the fixed display device.

Abstract: An appliance for conditioning air of an associated room and an associated method for controlling an air conditioner are disclosed, the controller selectively adjusting operation of the air conditioning appliance based on historical operating data. The controller adjusts a set-point of the appliance for a preselected period of time in response to the historical operating data of the appliance when the appliance operates in an energy savings mode. The controller is configured to receive and process data relating to the rate of change in the temperature. Further, an override feature may be included to maintain operation of the appliance in a normal operation mode if ambient temperature reaches a predetermined threshold value. Another feature is that the controller determines whether the compressor has been operational less than a preselected period of time and, if so, the compressor is operated until such time period has elapsed.
