Position Indication Transmitted By Local Station To Remote Location Patents (Class 340/993)
  • Patent number: 10303181
Abstract: A vehicle management system can include a self-driving vehicle and a computer system that is communicatively coupled with a remote computing device of a rider. The vehicle management system can include a location tracking system configured to receive a first location data indicative of a drop-off location where the self-driving vehicle dropped off the rider. The location tracking system can receive a second location data indicative of locations of the remote computing device during a period from after the self-driving vehicle fleet drops off the rider to before the self-driving vehicle fleet picks up the rider. The computer system can be configured to prompt the self-driving vehicle to drive to an area within 100 feet of the drop-off location to pick up the rider in response to determining that the second location data is indicative of the remote computing device having returned to the area after being dropped off.

  • Patent number: 10194275
Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to one or more methods for organizing a plurality of remote units or mobile computing platform (MCPs) associated with vehicles such that the remote units or MCPs may communicate with each other, for example, without routing messages via the backend server. In some aspects, the remote units or MCPs may initiate the process by transmitting an awake and/or ready message to the server. The message may indicate the state of the remote unit or MCP and provide communication establishment information of the remote unit or MCP. Accordingly, the server may maintain a list of remote units or MCPs that are awake and configured for inter-network communication. In some aspects, the server may periodically distribute the compiled list of active MCPs, such that one remote unit or MCP may establish direct peer-to-peer (P2P) communication with one or more other remote units or MCPs in a fleet.

  • Patent number: 8548534
Abstract: A wireless headset system including a switching unit having a detection circuit coupled to a wireless adapter. The detection circuit provides a first output signal to the wireless adapter upon detection of a triggering event, such as activation of a manual switch or detection of voltage of an audio output signal from a mobile communications device. The first output signal causes the wireless adapter to enter into an active audio channel mode. The detection circuit also provides a second output signal to the wireless adapter when no triggering event is detected, and the second output signal causes the wireless adapter to enter into a standby mode. Placing at least the wireless adapter in a standby mode saves battery life of the system.

  • Patent number: 8543293
Abstract: Route guidance apparatuses, methods, and programs determine a guidance intersection in front of a movable body in a direction of travel along a navigation route. The apparatuses, methods, and programs acquire a shape of the guidance intersection, determine an exit road on which the movable body leaves the guidance intersection, and determine whether the determined exit road is one of a plurality of roads connected to the guidance intersection that exist in an area extending in the same direction as the determined exit road. When the determined road is one of the plurality of roads that exist in the area extending in the same direction as the exit road, the apparatuses, methods, and programs associate each of the plurality of roads with an identification information item usable to identify a connecting relationship with the guidance intersection, and provide guidance using the identification information item associated with the exit road.
