  • Patent number: 10786728
Abstract: A system that mirrors motion of a physical object by displaying a virtual object moving in a virtual environment. The mirroring display may be used for example for feedback, coaching, or for playing virtual games. Motion of the physical object is measured by motion sensors that may for example include an accelerometer, a gyroscope, and a magnetometer. Sensor data is transmitted to a computer that calculates the position and orientation of the physical object and generates a corresponding position and orientation of the virtual object. The computer may correct or adjust the calculations using sensor data redundancies. The virtual environment may include constraints on the position, orientation, or motion of the virtual object. These constraints may be used to compensate for accumulating errors in position and orientation. The system may for example use proportional error feedback to adjust position and orientation based on sensor redundancies and virtual environment constraints.

Once the eraser stroke is received, the ink erasing feature can determine whether any eraser segment of the eraser stroke contacts the ink stroke. If an eraser segment does not contact the ink stroke, the ink erasing feature discards the eraser segment. If an eraser segment does contact the ink stroke, the ink erasing feature can update the ink stroke data based on amount of overlap and location of contact between the eraser stroke and the ink stroke.

  • Patent number: 10728570
Abstract: A data processing apparatus may use a video encoder in order to extract motion information from streaming video in real time. Output of the video encoder may be parsed in order to extract motion information associated with one or more objects within the video stream. Motion information may be utilized by e.g., an adaptive controller in order to detect one or more objects salient to a given task. The controller may be configured to determine a control signal associated with the given task. The control signal determination may be configured based on a characteristic of an object detected using motion information extracted from the encoded output. The control signal may be provided to a robotic device causing the device to execute the task. The use of dedicated hardware video encoder output may reduce energy consumption associated with execution of the task and/or extend autonomy of the robotic device.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to manipulating a user interface on a wearable electronic device using a mechanical crown. In some examples, the user interface can be scrolled or scaled in response to a rotation of the crown. The direction of the scrolling or scaling and the amount of scrolling or scaling can depend on the direction and amount of rotation of the crown, respectively. In some examples, the amount of scrolling or scaling can be proportional to the change in rotation angle of the crown. In other examples, a speed of scrolling or a speed of scaling can depend on a speed of angular rotation of the crown. In these examples, a greater speed of rotation can cause a greater speed of scrolling or scaling to be performed on the displayed view.
