Abstract: A mouse device includes a shell, a circuit board, an electrical switch, a button and a push block. The circuit board is disposed within the shell, and the electrical switch is electrically disposed on the electrical board. The button is disposed on the shell and faces the electrical switch on the electrical board and is configured to move with respect to the shell and optionally trigger the electrical switch. The push block is disposed on the button facing the electrical switch, wherein hardness of the push block is substantially greater than that of the button. While the button triggers the electrical switch, the push block presses the electrical switch, thereby preventing an unintentional contact of the button with the electrical switch.

Abstract: A method, system and apparatus provide that movement of an interference pattern of a coherent light beam is mapped to cursor movement to effect navigation of a user interface. A remote controller operable to emit a coherent light beam is in cooperative arrangement with a display device operable to display a user interface, navigable by means of a cursor. A laser diode element and coupled diffuser element of the remote controller generate the coherent light beam. Movement of the remote controller causes movement of an interference pattern of the coherent light beam impinging upon a sensor of the display device; movement of the interference pattern is sensed by the display device and mapped to corresponding movement of the cursor in the user interface. Thus, the remote controller may be used to navigate an on-screen user interface by movement of the remote controller itself.

Abstract: A computer input device (e.g. a mouse) with a finger-triggered sensor is described. The sensor generates input signals in addition to the conventional mouse signals generated by click buttons, tracking device and scrolling wheel. The sensor may be an optical sensor, a touch-sensitive sensor or other types of sensors. The signals generated by the sensor, either alone or in combination with other signals generated by the buttons, tracking device or scrolling wheel, may be interpreted to generate various messages for the operating system and/or application programs. The interpretation may be performed by a circuit on the input device, by a driver program on the host computer, or both. The sensor may be provided on a mouse, a laptop keyboard that has a pointing device, an external keyboard equipped with a pointing device, or on a stand-alone device that can be electrically connected to a computer through its available ports.
