Abstract: In one aspect, a method for determining soil clods within a field includes receiving one or more images depicting an imaged portion of an agricultural field. The method also includes classifying a portion of the plurality of pixels that are associated with soil within the imaged portion of the field as soil pixels with each soil pixel being associated with a respective pixel height. The method also includes generating a first ray from a local maximum in a first direction and a second ray from the local maximum in a second direction that is perpendicular to the first ray until opposing endpoints are determined based on a detected edge condition. Lastly, the method includes determining whether a soil clod based at least in part the first ray or the second ray of the candidate soil clod.

Abstract: The disclosure presents a technique for utilizing ray tracing to produce high quality visual scenes with shadows while minimizing computing costs. The disclosed technique can lower the number of rays needed for shadow region rendering and still maintain a targeted visual quality for the scene. In one example, a method for denoising a ray traced scene is disclosed that includes: (1) applying a pixel mask to a data structure of data from the scene, wherein the applying uses the scene at full resolution and pixels at the edge of a depth boundary change are identified using the pixel mask, (2) generating a penumbra mask using the data structure, (3) adjusting HitT values in the packed data buffer utilizing the penumbra mask, and (4) denoising the scene by reducing scene noise in the data of the data structure with adjusted HitT values.

Abstract: A method for generating at least one proxy level of detail (LOD) visual asset for contents of a grid cell of a game map is described. A LOD management engine receives data indicative of grid cell contents and at least one function is applied to the data. The LOD engine generates a base proxy LOD visual asset representative of the data and an associated base proxy switch distance as a result of the applying, received by a LOD management module which generates a first proxy LOD visual asset by iteratively reducing a polygon mesh complexity of the base proxy LOD visual asset until a maximum geometric deviation of the first proxy LOD visual asset approaches a predefined threshold value. • Patent number: 11547388
Abstract: A fusion imaging system co-registers and fuses real time ultrasound images with reference images such as those produced by MRI or CT imaging. In an illustrated implementation, previously acquired CT or MRI or ultrasound images are loaded into the system. An ultrasound system is operated in conjunction with a tracking system so that the ultrasound probe and images can be spatially tracked. A computerized image processor registers the probe position with a reference image of the anatomy being scanned by the probe and determines whether the probe appears to be inside the skin line of the subject. If that is the case it is due to probe compression of the subject, and the reference image is modified to locate the skin line in the reference image in front of the ultrasound probe. The modified reference images can then be readily co-registered and fused with the ultrasound images produced by the probe.

Abstract: A method and a system for generating a multiview stereoscopic image are provided. The method includes the following steps. An image capturing apparatus captures a real calibration panel to obtain multiple images, and a processor obtains a datum image and multiple images to be calibrated by analyzing the images including the real calibration panel. The processor respectively calculates a homography matrix of each of the images to be calibrated corresponding to the datum image according to the datum image and the images to be calibrated. The processor obtains a calibration matrix of the homography matrix by performing a matrix disassembly calculation on each of the homography matrices. The processor multiplies the images to be calibrated by the corresponding calibration matrix to obtain multiple calibrated images. The processor outputs the multiview stereoscopic image including the datum image and the calibrated images.

  • Patent number: 11454710
Abstract: A system comprises an encoder configured to compress attribute information for a point cloud and/or a decoder configured to decompress compressed attribute information. Attribute values for at least one starting point are included in a compressed attribute information file and attribute correction values are included in the compressed attribute information file. An order for the points is determined based on a space filling curve, wherein an encoder and a decoder determine a same order for the points based on the space filling curve. Levels of detail are determined by sampling the ordered points according to different sampling parameters, and attribute values are predicted for the points in the levels of detail using the determined order. The encoder determines attribute correction values based on a comparison of the predicted values to an original value prior to compression. The decoder corrects the predicted attribute values based on received attribute correction values.
