  • Patent number: 10298552
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are presented for securely providing digital streaming data to subscriber devices using encrypted wavelet meshes. A recorded image may be subdivided into three sources of data: light sources, camera angles, and the objects themselves. Each of these sources of data may be considered unique from each other, and the totality of the three sources of data may comprise a complete image. Without one of the sources of data, the image may not be complete. Each of the three sources of data may therefore be characterized as key spaces, wherein encrypting part of or the entirety of even one of these key spaces prevents the complete image from being viewed. Methods and apparatuses are provided for utilizing the concept of encrypting at least a portion of at least one of the three key spaces in order to securely and/or privately transmit image data to subscribers.

  • Patent number: 10163247
Abstract: A computing system is configured for context-adaptive allocation of render model resources that may sacrifice some level of detail in a computational description of a 3D scene before rendering in order to accommodate resource limitations in a rendering environment such as available processor cycles, and/or bandwidth for data transmission to a processor. Such resource limitations can often preclude rendering a richly detailed 3D scene, particularly in full-motion and/or in real time. An importance function describing the relative perceptual importance of elements that make up the 3D scene is utilized to enable resources to be adaptively allocated so that more resources go to visual elements of the 3D scene that have a higher perceptual importance. The rendered output may thus optimize visual fidelity for the computational description within the resource constrained rendering environment.

  • Patent number: 10104335
Abstract: A device applied to a display includes a receiving circuit, a detecting circuit, an image processing circuit and a response time enhancing circuit. The receiving circuit receives an input image signal. The detecting circuit detects a frame rate of image data of a frame in the input image signal. The image processing circuit performs image processing on the image data of the frame to generate a target pixel value of multiple pixels in the frame. The response time enhancing circuit determines multiple adjusted pixel values of the multiple pixels according to the frame rate, and outputs the adjusted pixel values to a display panel. For a pixel, the adjusted pixel values generated for the pixel under different frame rates are different.

Abstract: Some embodiments provide a program that receives from several data providers route data and graphical representation of route data (e.g., transit systems, schedules, stops, etc.) for different localities. The program also stores this data on a set of servers for later retrieval and transmission to commute applications operating in different localities. The program further retrieves from external vendors location data of transit vehicles that traverse routes based on the route data and schedule data. The location data is for transmitting to commute applications.

Abstract: A graphics processing unit 3 includes a rasterizer 25, a thread spawner 40, a programmable execution unit 41, a varying interpolator 42, a texture mapper 43, and a blender 29. The programmable execution unit 41 is able to communicate with the varying interpolator 42, the texture mapper 43 and the blender 29 to request processing operations by those graphic specific accelerators. In addition to this, these graphics-specific accelerators are also able to communicate directly with each other and with the thread spawner 40, independently of the programmable execution unit 41. This allows for certain graphics processing operations to be performed using direct communication between the graphics-specific accelerators of the graphics processing unit, instead of executing instructions in the programmable execution unit to trigger the performance of those operations by the graphics-specific accelerators.

  • Patent number: 10078711
Abstract: A method and system are provided for data driven shrinkage compensation. The method includes subdividing, by a polygon subdivider, polygons in a three-dimensional file into facets. The method further includes calculating, by an axis dimension calculator, dimensions of an object from an x-directional strand disposed between two facets of a first predetermined facet pair, a y-directional strand disposed between two facets of second predetermined facet pair, and a z-directional strand disposed between two facets of a third predetermined facet pair. The object is formed from at least some of the polygons. The method also includes predicting, by a dimension change predictor, dimensional changes in the strands based on a shape shrinkage model. The method additionally includes correcting, by a dimension change compensator, x-coordinate data, y-coordinate data, and z-coordinate data of at least one facet of the predetermined facet pairs to compensate for the dimensional changes in the strands.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer program products for interacting with electronically displayed presentation materials are described. A display system includes, at least, a digital processor, an electronic display, and a non-transitory processor-readable storage medium into which is loaded a computer program product that includes, at least, processor-executable instructions and/or data. The processor-executable instructions and/or data, when executed by the processor, cause the display system to respond to user inputs indicative of pointer commands and magnification setting commands. In response to such commands, the display system causes; i) a dynamic cursor to display over top of content on the electronic display; and ii) a digital copy image of the content to be displayed over top of the content on the electronic display, the digital copy image displayed at a greater magnification level than the content.

  • Patent number: 10067950
Abstract: To organize configuration parameters for rendering map features on digital maps, a data structure storing multiple nodes is generated. Respective sets of map feature attributes and configuration parameters are assigned to the nodes. The configuration parameters specify visual attributes for rendering map features. Indications of relationships between the nodes are generated, where at least several of the nodes include several child nodes. An indication of one or more map feature attributes to which a certain map feature belongs is received, and the data structure is traversed according to the indicated relationships between the nodes to generate a set of configuration parameters for rendering the map feature. Traversing the data structure includes comparing the indicated map feature attribute or map feature attributes to sets of map feature attributes at some of the nodes, such that the generated set of configuration parameters includes configuration parameters from at least two of the nodes.

When a primary bar is selected, associated secondary bars swivel out from the z-axis to the front plane. When deselected, the secondary bars swivel back to the z-axis. The user can see additional information is tied to a bar without cluttering the presentation. For an application involving evaluation of a cognitive system, the primary bars can represent confidence levels for candidate answers to a natural language question. The chart includes a legend which displays a particular result when the corresponding primary bar is selected. When a label in the legend is selected, the visualization is augmented with explanatory information pertaining to the particular result, such as evidence extracted from corpora used by the cognitive system to arrive at the result.
