  • Patent number: 11841898
Abstract: A computing device obtains prescribed sequences of code points for respective pictographs (e.g., “emojis”) from a prescribed destination, determines identifiable graphical subcomponents from the prescribed sequence of code points for each pictograph, and maps the identifiable graphical subcomponents into distinct pattern marker types used for generation of a selected pictograph. The mapping includes aggregating selected graphical subcomponents from among the pictographs as distinct options for an identified one of the pattern marker types. The computing device causes display of the pictographs as a grouping together of respective variations relative to a root pictograph that is based on the identified one of the pattern marker types, where the grouping is based on arranging the distinct options for the pattern marker types relative to the root pictograph, enabling a user selection of the selected pictograph within the grouping relative to the root pictograph.

  • Patent number: 11836860
Abstract: Methods and systems for performing facial retargeting using a patch-based technique are disclosed. One or more three-dimensional (3D) representations of a source character's (e.g., a human actor's) face can be transferred onto one or more corresponding representations of a target character's (e.g., a cartoon character's) face, enabling filmmakers to transfer a performance by a source character to a target character. The source character's 3D facial shape can separated into patches. For each patch, a patch combination (representing that patch as a combination of source reference patches) can be determined. The patch combinations and target reference patches can then be used to create target patches corresponding to the target character. The target patches can be combined using an anatomical local model solver to produce a 3D facial shape corresponding to the target character, effectively transferring a facial performance by the source character to the target character.

Abstract: A cloud gaming system includes a messaging bus and a plurality of servers that are interconnected via the messaging bus and communicatively coupled to one or more client devices. Each server executes a game simulation instance for each of one or more players associated with one of the client devices. Each game simulation instance associated with a player within a specified region of a game world communicates player input by the player to one or more other game simulation instances via an ad-hoc peer-to-peer network formed between multiple game simulation instances associated with players within the specified region. Each game simulation instance associated with a player within the specified region also calculates a current state for the player based on the player inputs received via the ad-hoc peer-to-peer network.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method and a device for recognizing hand gestures in real-time. A shape is given as an input in a form of a binary image. The shape contour is partitioned into radial and angular spaces by an Angular Radial Bin distribution including multiple concentric circles and angular space partitions in a way that multiple angular radial sections are created denoted Angular Radial Bins. The ARB distribution is angle tilted through its centre of mass multiple times and the same procedure is repeated in order to capture a shape descriptor from different angle perspectives. A shape descriptor is calculated for each of an angle tilted instance of the ARB distribution belonging to a sequence of angle tilted instances of the ARB distribution.

Abstract: Systems and techniques are described for monitoring screen activity of a computing device and performing designated system actions based on the monitored activity. In some implementations, activity data indicating usage of a computing device by a user within a property over a particular time period is obtained. Sensor data collected by a monitoring system that monitors the property over the particular time period is then obtained. An activity monitoring rule that specifies (i) one or more conditions associated with usage of the computing device by the user, and (ii) an action to perform in response to satisfaction of the one or more conditions is identified. A determination that the activity data and the sensor data satisfy the one or more conditions specified by the activity monitoring rule is made. The action specified by the activity monitoring rule is then performed in response to the determination.
