Abstract: An image processing apparatus which makes it possible to automatically defining a processing area in which image processing is to be performed according to the type of image processing, to thereby improve user friendliness. A starting point and an ending point are designated on an image displayed on a display, and coordinates as information on the designated points are acquired. A type of image processing to be performed on the displayed image is selected from among a plurality of types of image processing, and information on the selected type is acquired. An editing area on the displayed image, in which the displayed image is to be subjected to the selected type of image processing, is defined according to the information on the designated points and the selected type of image processing. The display of the image in the defined editing area can be changed.

  • Patent number: 8098331
Abstract: According to one embodiment, an edge-smoothing apparatus has a synthesizing unit that generates a main synthesized video signal representing different images, a flag-inserting unit that inserts ID flags into the video data items, respectively, an image-edge processing unit that outputs a reference synthesized video signal from the main synthesized video signal, and selects and outputs a plurality of edge-smoothing synthesized video signals in accordance with a selection signal. A flag decoder discriminates the ID flags and generates the selection signal to prevent the edge-smoothing synthesized video signals for the different images, from being processed together, and generates an edge-smoothing-parameter selecting signal in accordance with the ID flags. Edge-smoothing components are generated by using the reference synthesized video signal from the image-edge processing unit and the edge-smoothing synthesized video signals.

  • Patent number: 8086262
Abstract: To provide an information terminal device contributing to prevention of an operation not intended by a user. A communication management unit (512) of an SVG processing unit (510) displays an image (confirmation image) for requesting a user to perform a confirmation input to confirm whether to be connected to the network before performing network connection according to the definition of a link definition unit (630) in the SVG content (600). When the user rejects the network connection, the link defined by the link definition unit (630) is not referenced. On the other hand, when the user permits the network connection, the communication management unit (512) requests the data of the address defined by the link definition unit (630) from the HTTP server (10) or the like specified in the address. Upon reception of a response to this, a communication state display unit (513) displays the data reception state according to the report from a communication state report unit (121).

  • Patent number: 8059136
Abstract: A system and method of efficiently and effectively triaging an image that may include one or more target entities are provided. An image that may include one or more target entities is retrieved. The retrieved image is then divided into a plurality of sub-images, and each sub-image is displayed in a display region to a user. Each sub-image that was previously displayed is then divided into a plurality of sub-images, and each sub-image that was just divided is displayed to the user in the display region. The steps in the previous sentence are then repeated a determined number of times. During the initial display of the sub-images, and during each subsequent recursion, data are collected from the user and estimates of target entity locations are derived from the collected data.

An application program provides a user interface for laying out images and associated text using the contents of a layout definition file. The user interface includes a canvas onto which a user may place one or more images and a layout gallery through which a user may select a pre-defined layout. The layout gallery includes selectable visual representations corresponding to the pre-defined layouts. When one of the visual representations is selected, the corresponding pre-defined layout is applied to images on the canvas. Alternatively, one of the visual representations may be selected to cause placeholders for images and text in the corresponding pre-defined layout to be placed on the canvas. Images and text can be added to the layout by using the placeholders. Mechanisms are also provided for cropping images for use in a pre-defined layout.
