Abstract: Systems and methods for resolving audio conflicts in extended reality systems. When multiple users speak at the same time, one user is selected to speak to the others. The audio output of each remaining speaker is not broadcast, but is instead converted to text which is displayed next to each speaker's avatar or other representation. Users are thus no longer subjected to confusion when multiple speakers each attempt to speak at the same time. Text may be displayed as an extended reality object that can be displayed in the proper perspective and orientation for each user. Displayed text may also be an interactive element of the extended reality environment, moving to avoid collisions with other elements or objects of the extended reality environment, capable of being manipulated by users, or the like.

Abstract: A device management system includes: a display device including first circuitry that displays a display area for displaying an object input by an operator; an image-capturing device including second circuitry that acquires an operator image including an image of at least a portion of the display device and at least a portion of an operator; and an information processing server including third circuitry that transmits the operator image acquired by the image-capturing device to a terminal apparatus to enable sharing of the display area between the display device and the terminal apparatus.

Abstract: A current geographical location of a portable device is used to facilitate selection of channel lineup that is appropriate for a Multi-System Operator (MSO) provider and the current geographical location of the portable device. A program guide GUI of the portable device is then configured using the selected channel lineup. The configured GUI is displayable to a user of the portable device whereupon the configured GUI is available for use in commanding tuning operations of a set-top box.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable media that merge separate digital point text objects into a single merged digital text object while preserving the properties and original visual appearance associated with the digital text included therein. For example, the disclosed systems can determine point text character properties associated with the separate digital point text objects (e.g., rotations, baseline shifts, etc.). The disclosed systems can merge the separate digital point text objects into a single merged digital point text object and modify associated font character properties to reflect the determined point text character properties. Further, the disclosed systems can generate an area text object based on the merged digital point text object where the area text object includes the digital text and the font character properties.

Abstract: Dynamic link preview generation techniques are described that overcome the challenges of conventional techniques by supporting link preview generation by a content provider system that proves the digital content via a respective network address. In one example, a content provider system, based on a request received from a service provider system, identifies a communication platform of the service provider system that is to be used to communicate the shared link. Upon identifying the communication platform, the content provider system locates customization data that describes how the link preview is to be generated for the communication platform. In response, the content provider system renders digital content available via the network address to generate the link preview.

Abstract: An online direct marketing and advertising system is presented in which advertisers have an opportunity to send targeted promotions, coupons and offers that are placed in a user's web-based email account without the drawbacks of sending conventional email. The promotions do not take up disk quota space and, at the same time, the system does not need to divulge private user information to the advertiser. This system provides a means to free web-based email providers from the need to obtain opt-in permission to send offers to their users as providers are frequently prohibited from sharing the user's email address and personal information with merchants.

The individual or other entity may then request an authentication token from the issuer. The issuer may then issue the token to the individual without the need to ask or require the individual to identify his or herself. The individual may then map this issued authentication token to the individual's password at each of the individual's online accounts.

Examples of the disclosure are directed to methods of generating a word cloud inside a predetermined polygon of arbitrary shape and size. For example, a word cloud may be generated with words to describe a particular company, and the word cloud may be generated inside the predefined shape of that company's logo, creating a single visualization that both describes and identifies the company. Further, whereas a traditional word cloud may illustrate relative word importance through relative word size, based on relative frequency of each word in a description or corpus, examples of the disclosure are directed to word clouds that can represent multiple dimensions of information for each word using size and color, for example.

Abstract: Systems and methods for synchronizing a broadcast video with contextual data are disclosed, wherein the broadcast video is enhanced by graphical overlays. Synchronization is achieved by means of digital watermarking of the broadcast video in conjunction with the graphical-overlays. Exemplary embodiments embed a watermark bitstream into the broadcast video based on an overlay-template, characteristic of a corresponding overlay-graphic. The watermarked video is then transmitted over a communication link to a receiving-end including a detector. According to some embodiment, the embedder inserts the watermark bitstream into the overlay-graphics' regions of the video and the detector extracts the watermark bitstream based on information in the overlay-template and based on a restored version of the original overlay-graphics.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for generating a document preview. According to the method, a preview handler provides an interface to one or more previewers. The previewers are software components capable of generating a visual preview for one or more document types. In response to a request from a host application to generate a preview for a document, the preview handler is operative to identify the appropriate previewer for generating a preview for the document. The preview handler may then call the previewer and instruct the previewer to load the document and to show the preview in a sub-window of a window provided by the calling host application.
