  • Patent number: 10235821
Abstract: A door opens for an authenticated user by being tapped by a communication device. A physical access control system actuates upon receiving a wireless request triggered by a pattern of indicia in the vicinity of a portal. A hand-held communication device transmits a portal access control signal when it recognizes a pattern of bursts in signal amplitude. A mobile device has a sensor package, communication circuits, and a processor. Upon determining proximity to a controlled portal, the sensor package enables a pattern recognition circuit. Upon receiving a success indicia from the pattern recognition circuit, the communication circuits authenticate with the controlled portal, e.g. causing a door to open. A sensor package may be enabled by accelerations from bumping the device; tapping the device against a door, wall, or table. A pattern may be related to a number, or a sequence, or combination of slows, pauses, and quicks, or a single acceleration.

  • Patent number: 9626889
Abstract: A method for driving an information processing device which is adaptable to a wider variety of input methods is provided. The coordinates of an operating body at a starting point in the XYZ space and the coordinates of the operating body at an ending point in the XYZ space after a certain period of time are obtained, and the Z coordinate at the ending point and the movement distance on the X-Y plane in the certain period of time are calculated. Then, a signal is output only in the case where both the distance from an operating surface to the operating body in the vertical direction and the movement distance in the horizontal direction exceed the respective threshold values. In this manner, input operation can be performed by a three-dimensional motion, which includes movement of the operating body in the vertical direction as well as in the horizontal direction.

Abstract: An example of a game apparatus as an image processing apparatus includes a CPU, and the CPU controls a movement, etc. of a player object according to an instruction from a player. In a case that a predetermined condition is satisfied, a two-dimensional surface is displayed within a virtual three-dimensional space. When the player moves a first controller, a two-dimensional image is depicted on the two-dimensional surface in response thereto. Then, it is determined whether or not the depicted two-dimensional image is a predetermined image. If it is determined that the two-dimensional image is the predetermined image, a three-dimensional object corresponding to the predetermined image appears, and the two-dimensional surface and the two-dimensional image depicted thereon are erased.
