Abstract: System and method for obtaining and recording information about cargo includes a frame defining a cargo-receivable compartment, a position determining system at least partly on the frame and that allows for determination of position of the frame, an identification system on the frame that obtains information about cargo when present in the compartment, a memory component that receives and records information about position and movement of the frame, and the obtained information about cargo when present in the compartment in association with a unique identification of the frame, and a communications system on the frame to enable communication of information to and from the memory component.

Abstract: A chart recorder apparatus wherein information is indicated by using light emitting devices which are disposed to access the rear surface of a chart on which measured signals of a chart recorder are recorded on a front surface thereof. Various types of information are projected and indicated without otherwise compromising features of a chart recorder and thereby enhancing functionality of a compact chart recorder having a small display area.
Abstract: An improved chart recorder integrates a variety of flexible control functions, including the ability to program a plurality of set points, which are advantageously made visually apparent on the chart recorder paper and used for direct equipment control. In a preferred embodiment, a reversible stepper motor is used in conjunction with an operator input, enabling a user to incrementally advance one or more pens in two dimensions in conjunction with paper travel. The chart paper may further optionally include a machine-readable code containing chart-related information, including scale resolution, with the recorder being programmed to detect and interpret the machine-readable code and adjust pen movement to ensure compatibility with the scale resolution.
Abstract: A disc-like sheet of pressure-sensitive material rests on a turntable rotatably mounted on a housing. The sheet has spaced scale markings there on around its circumference indicating units of time. A stylus arm is movably mounted on the housing in proximity with the turntable and has a stylus affixed to, and extending from, its free end and abutting the sheet of material at its axial area. The housing has a clock motor and solenoid electrically connected between an electrical appliance and a source of electrical energy. The motor rotates the turntable one revolution in a predetermined period of time. The solenoid moves the stylus to the circumferential area of the sheet during the operation energization and of the appliance to record such operation in the circumferential area during the time of operation. The stylus is in the axial area of the sheet during deenergization of the appliance to record inoperativeness of the appliance in the axial area.
Abstract: The temperature Recording instrument contains the usual thermal measuring system consisting of a bellows assembly, a temperature sensitive bulb and capillary tubing between the bellows and bulb and a recording system including a marking element which is responsive to the energization of the bellows for permanently indicating the temperature sensed by the bulb on chart paper mounted on a base plate located in the instrument housing. A fulcrum having an axis extends through the base plate and carries a bracket which is provided with one slot or with a pair of slots on opposite sides of the axis. A spool is located in one or the other of the slots. An adjusting screw is carried by the bracket and is threadedly connected to the spool. Rotation of the adjusting screw is effective to move the spool in the corresponding slot relative to the fulcrum's axis. The marking element is located on the chart side of the base plate and is secured to the bracket.
