Register Character Printing, Dotting Or Punching Patents (Class 346/94)
  • Patent number: 5146239
Abstract: The present invention uses heat-sensitive paper with an adhesive face and plural kinds of identification portions, arranged in the longitudinal direction, provided on the reverse thereof and has a feed portion setting up a relative motion between the heat-sensitive paper and a punch, which is driven by a drive portion for making a perforation in the heat-sensitive paper. It further has a drive timing changing means for changing timing of the drive of the drive portion during the relative motion according to the kind of the tag to be issued so that a perforation is made in a desired position of the heat-sensitive paper, whereby, when the tag after being issued is folded in two and its end portions are stuck together with adhesive, the identification portion looking out of the perforation is made to be the identification portion corresponding to the kind of the tag, and thus, the kind of the tag is made identifiable at a glance.

  • Patent number: 4983991
Abstract: The inventon relates to a method and apparatus for marking or recording patient-related information and other necessary data in connection with X-ray imaging on a certain section of a film (6) by using a marking apparatus (2) which is movable relative to film (6). In the method, markings are made latent on film (6) in a manner that the markings become visible in connection with film development. The marking is effected as a sequence, line-directed deviation of a marking being obtained by moving the marking apparatus and the film relative to each other. The marking apparatus (2) used in the method is provided with marking elements which are brought into contact with film (6) for producing a marking on film (6), vertical deviation of alphanumerical marks included in a marking being achieved by individually controlling the operation of each marking element included in the marking apparatus.

  • Patent number: 4901158
Abstract: Disclosed is a stamping device for use in facsimile equipment, wherein a document has a mark stamped hereon after its information has been transmitted. The stamp device is composed of a stamp body which has a stamp face for marking the document and a handling knob; a mounting plate for detachably holding the stamp body; and a solenoid for moving the mounting plate, whereby the stamp face is pressed onto the document so as to stamp the mark. The stamp body and the mounting plate are shaped so that the stamp body is engaged with a freely removed from the mounting plate by using the knob of the stamp body.

  • Patent number: 4529871
Abstract: A price marking system for use with a product checkout system such as a supermarket checkout system. In the price marking system a label printer and label applicator are located in the checkout counter immediately downstream of the product scanner. When the checkout clerk passes the product unit over the scanner, causing the store computer to provide to the display screen and receipt tape printer signals indicative of the product description and price, this information is also fed to the label printer which prints for each product unit a label containing the product description, price and date of purchase. The product unit is then moved to the label applicator which applies the printed label to the product unit. Alternatively the information can be printed directly on the product unit.

  • Patent number: 4286112
Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed for use with teletypewriter consoles in teleprinter communication networks for providing transmission time information during message preparation; namely, the number of whole minutes of message time plus either the number of characters remaining to the next full minute, or tenths of minutes of additional message time used. Such information enables the user to anticipate and thus optimize message time for which he is charged in a rounding-up charge procedure commonly used in such teleprinter communication networks. A preferred embodiment consists of a microprocessor-based computer for converting each character on a perforated tape to a sub-unit of time corresponding to the appropriate transmission rate of either TELEX or TWX network services.
