Changing Camera Function Based On Motion Detection (mode, Power Supply) Patents (Class 348/208.16)
  • Patent number: 11588980
Abstract: A method is disclosed for improving the quality of photographs taken in low-light conditions by adjustment of shutter speed and digital gain based on a shutter prioritization value. Using a network of sensor, a digital camera processes various parameters, such as light level of the scene and movement of the camera or of subjects within the scene, to compute a shutter prioritization value. The value is then used to select the most appropriate shutter speed and digital gain combination from a constant exposure curve. Higher prioritization values correspond to faster shutter speeds and higher digital gain. Lower prioritization values correspond to lower shutter speeds and lower digital gain. In further embodiments, the shutter prioritization value may be manually customized by a user in order to produce artistic effects.

The use of cells allows a target image (e.g., an image of a sub-region of cells in the biological specimen) taken by one imaging station to be pattern-matched to a reference image (e.g., an image showing a larger region of cells in the biological specimen that also includes the sub-region) taken by another imaging station. Once the target image is matched to the reference image, point by point correspondence (and therefore coordinates) between the target image and the reference image can be established for computing the coordinate transformation to map the imaging stations.

  • Patent number: 9106836
Abstract: A shooting target detection unit detects a main shooting target from a position where a touch-down operation is performed on a touch panel. A system control device causes a ranging control device and an exposure control device to perform AF processing and AE processing on the main shooting target. The system control device displays a continuous shooting switch near the touched position. The system control device performs continuous shooting if a user moves his/her finger to the continuous shooting switch and then performs a touch-up operation. Whereas, the system control device performs single shooting if the user performs the touch-up operation without moving his/her finger to the continuous shooting switch.

  • Patent number: 9013583
Abstract: Image pickup means is capable of picking up an image at a first frame rate and a second frame rate that is higher than the first frame rate. A highlight scene is detected by detection means. When detecting the highlight scene, image pickup operation is performed at a high speed mode and an image signal at high frame rate (240 fps) is produced for a period of predetermined time. When detecting no highlight scene, image pickup operation is performed at a normal mode and an image signal at normal frame rate (60 fps) is produced. It is possible to save time and labor for performing a switchover operation of a frame rate when imaging a highlight scene. It is also possible to save power consumption and a capacity of a storage medium.

  • Patent number: 8994835
Abstract: An image capturing apparatus receives shake information detected by, for example, a sensor which detects a shake, and determines whether the hold status of the image capturing apparatus is handheld or fixed, based on the shake information (first shake determination). Also, the image capturing apparatus sequentially acquires images output upon photoelectric conversion by charge-accumulation type photoelectric conversion elements, and determines whether the hold status is handheld or fixed, based on an image displacement between the images (second shake determination). The exposure settings at the time of image capturing are changed between the case wherein it is determined by first shake determination that the hold status is fixed, and that wherein it is determined by second shake determination that the hold status is fixed.
