  • Publication number: 20040201707
Abstract: An image stabilizer for stabilizing an image against unexpected vibrations or shaking of a zoom lens includes a diaphragm arranged to vary its full-open aperture diameter according to a magnification varying (zooming) action from a wide-angle end position to a telephoto end position of the zoom lens for the purpose of preventing variations in light quantity which more conspicuously take place in the peripheral part than in the central part of an image plane when an image stabilizing action is performed.

  • Patent number: 6798984
Abstract: The present invention provides a camera device for mounting on board a spacecraft, the camera device having at least one observation sensor and displacement means (4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9) for controlled displacement of said device relative to the spacecraft with at least one degree of freedom, the device being characterized in that said displacement means comprise at least one transducer of an active material suitable for deforming dynamically under the effect of a variable electric and/or magnetic field, together with driver means suitable for controlling the transducer so as to displace the observation sensor in compliance with a variable control relationship adapted to compensating movements induced by the flight dynamics of the satellite.

  • Patent number: 6781622
Abstract: An apparatus for detecting a deviation of a camera as a result of a shaking. The apparatus includes a shaking detector which detects a deviation of the camera from shaking based upon an output of at least two pairs of acceleration sensors which are located on different axes of the camera coordinates. A calculator calculates tilt angles of each of the axes from outputs of the pairs of the acceleration sensors.

  • Publication number: 20030067544
Abstract: A compensator for correcting a possible blur of image caused by a shake of an image pickup apparatus in which the compensator is arranged, and in which a downsize circuit board having a diminished area thereof and holding an image taking component is swung or moved. The compensator includes the circuit board with the diminished area for holding the image taking component, in which the circuit board is moved together with the image taking component. On the circuit board, there are arranged the image taking component and at least one other component. The at least one other component can be a component which is associated with reading of the signal(s) of the image outputted from the image taking element, and/or can be a component which is associated with the control to correct the possible blur of the image caused by the shake of the image pickup apparatus.

  • Publication number: 20020135681
Abstract: In a video monitoring method, each of a series of frame outputs generated by a video camera is defined with a number of image regions. Each of the image regions contains a predetermined segment of a predetermined set of horizontal scan lines of the corresponding frame output. A reference brightness value is obtained for each of the image regions of a reference one of the frame outputs. A current brightness value is then obtained for each of the image regions of a current one of the frame outputs. Each of the current brightness values is compared with a respective one of the reference brightness values to detect movement of an object into one of the image regions of the current one of the frame outputs.
