  • Patent number: 6795212
Abstract: A parameter determining part determines a parameter for an automatic image correction in accordance with inputted images to be printed, and an automatic image correcting part corrects the inputted images in accordance with the determined parameter. Consequently, the printed images have desirable qualities. The parameter determining part also determines whether multiple images to be printed are a series of images or not in accordance with additional information about the inputted images read by an additional information reading part. If the parameter determining part determines that the inputted images are the series of images, it fixes the parameter for all of the inputted images. This prevents the printed images from being different in color, gradation and gray balance.

Abstract: An electronic camera includes a shutter button. When the shutter button is half-depressed, a photographing condition such as an exposure time period and an aperture amount is adjusted by a main CPU, and characters indicative of the adjusted photographing condition are displayed on an LCD. When the shutter button is full-depressed, an image signal of an object is recorded in a recording medium. It is noted that a time difference between a timing of half-depressing the shutter button and a timing of full-depressing the shutter button is lower than a threshold value, a flag is set to “1”, and a display of the characters is prohibited. Prohibiting the characters from being displayed makes it possible to promptly execute a photographing of the object in response to the full-depression of the shutter button.

  • Patent number: 6721002
Abstract: A digital camera including a memory card for storing a composite image data. When an operator selects template image data and photographed image data recorded in a memory card, a CPU composites these image data with each other by using a DRAM. The CPU then compares a data amount of composite image data with a vacant capacity of the memory card. If the data amount is less than the vacant capacity, the composite image data is recorded into the memory card. Meanwhile, when the data amount is greater than the vacant capacity, the CPU displays a predetermined alarm message on an LCD. Here, if the operator attaches another memory card, the CPU again compares the data amount of the composite image data with a vacant capacity of a memory card newly attached. If the vacant capacity is sufficient, the composite image data is recorded to the same memory card.

  • Patent number: 6707950
Abstract: A method for modification of metadata in an image processing chain is disclosed. The method comprises the steps of: providing metadata corresponding to characteristics of a specific digital image; generating a metadata transformation related to at least one specific image transformation; and modifying the metadata according to the specific image transformation. The method is implemented in an image reproduction system. The system has an imaging capture device for providing digital image data. The imaging capture device can be for example a film scanner, flat bed scanner, or digital camera. A memory device stores metadata associated with the captured digital image data. The image transformations are carried out by an image processing chain. In addition to that a metadata processing chain is implemented and connected to the image processing chain in cases where the image transformations are metadata sensitive.

Abstract: A method for matching a photographic image with related identifying data, including the steps of creating a digital image that includes a datafile containing image time data, generating a signal when the digital image is created, and storing in a digital storage device identifying information relevant to the digital image. The identifying information also has information time data associated therewith. A signal is transmitted to the digital storage device and a time stamp is applied to the signal at the digital storage device. The image time data is stored in the digital storage device in time sequenced order. The image time data and the information time data are synchronized, and the digital image is associated with the identifying information by matching the synchronized image time data and the information time data.

  • Patent number: 6674956
Abstract: A VISS signal detection method for performing detection of a VISS signal of a video tape includes a step of executing a taking-up process of an interval between edges per level edge of the VISS signal, a step of performing a detection process of a VISS pulse, and a step of performing a detection process of the VISS signal on the basis of result of detection at the VISS pulse detection step. The process of the edge interval taking-in step is set as an interrupt process having highest preference. In the VISS pulse detection step, by making reference to a count value of an edge counter for distributing count values of a timer measuring the edge interval of a phase position detection signal added to the VISS signal used in the edge interval taking-in step, presence and absence of delay in the process of the VISS pulse is detected based on number of occurrence of the edge interval taking-in step occurring up to the VISS pulse detection step.

Abstract: In a sightseeing location, theme park or the like, a cameraman takes a picture with any customer as a subject. Photographic image data is stored, together with a photographing date/time and location, to an HDD of an order processing apparatus. A position information service center periodically transmits a position of a cellular phone carried by each customer to the order processing apparatus. The transmitted information, together with a date/time, is stored in the HDD as each customer's movement history. In case an image order is requested by a customer through an order receiving terminal or the like, the order processing apparatus collates a movement history of the corresponding customer with each photographing date/time and location of the photographic image data, and extracts only images having that customer as a subject to be list-displayed on a display.
