Abstract: The addition of temporal positions to an inverted index allows for temporal queries in addition to phrase queries. Store additional binary data for each term instance in the word-level index to prepare for searching in response to time-based queries from a user is accomplished through the use of Lucene's binary payload feature where the payload structure is defined for use in such searches. The pre-defined payload fields consist of three integers, which account for 12 extra bytes that must be stored for each term instance. A content database on the Master/Administrator server node provides the indexes for search into content in response to user events, returning results in JSON format. The search results may then be used to locate and present content segments to a user containing both requested search term results and the time location and duration within a content asset where the search term(s) is found.

Abstract: A video delivery system includes a tablet computer and one or two detachable projectors. In one embodiment, video files are transferred from the tablet computer to the projectors when they are connected. The tablet computer is used as a remote control that controls an operation of delivering a video portion of the video file through the projectors and an audio portion through the tablet computer in a synchronized manner. In one aspect, the two projectors may be positioned to project two adjacent screens that present different portions of images. In another embodiment, positions of the projectors attached to the tablet computer may be adjusted to deliver desired screens.

Abstract: A method for synchronizing of multimedia flows provided by different sources or transmitted via different transport protocols to a single receiving device or are designed to be rendered by different rendering devices. According to the invention, a reference datum representative of a datum of the first multimedia flow is provided in the second multimedia flow and associated with a datum of this second multimedia flow to synchronise the two flows. This reference datum constitutes a timing reference for the datum of the second multimedia flow with which it is associated. It is used to synchronize the two multimedia flows.

Abstract: A method is suggested enabling a person that watches a TV broadcasted live event to select and associate in a simple manner to the displayed video, an audio stream dealing with the same event but delivered by another source than the TV channel. The method relies on techniques allowing to know and to decode some available audio streams that deal with the same live event as the one currently displayed on TV and to synchronize these audio streams with the TV channel.

Abstract: Apparatus and method for synchronizing audio and video frames in a multimedia data stream. In accordance with some embodiments, the multimedia stream is received into a memory to provide a sequence of video frames in a first buffer and a sequence of audio frames in a second buffer. The sequence of video frames is monitored for an occurrence of at least one of a plurality of different types of visual events. The occurrence of a selected visual event is detected that spans multiple successive video frames in the sequence of video frames. A corresponding audio event is detected that spans multiple successive audio frames in the sequence of audio frames. The relative timing between the detected audio and visual events is adjusted to synchronize the associated sequences of video and audio frames.
