Abstract: Provided is a method for transmitting video signals, including: receiving an input video signal provided by a source, wherein the input video signal includes an image signal and a source timing signal; generating a pulse synchronization signal based on the source timing signal and an output frame rate, wherein the output frame rate is a frame rate of outputting the image signal to a display module, and a cycle of the pulse synchronization signal is an integer multiple of a cycle of the source timing signal, and is an integer multiple of a cycle corresponding to the output frame rate; generating an output timing signal based on the pulse synchronization signal; and transmitting an output video signal to the display module, wherein the output video signal includes the image signal and the output timing signal.

Abstract: A computer-implemented audio alignment system includes a storage device and a processor. The storage device is configured to ingest and store video files, which each include one or more respective audio soundtracks. The processor is configured to receive an alternate audio file associated with one of the video files. To improve the usability of data acquired from multiple sources, a synchronization module can tightly couple streams of data received from these sources so that the data is temporally aligned. For example, a synchronization module may tightly couple motion data generated by a motion sensor with location data generated by a location sensor and image data generated by an image sensor in a manner that lessens the incurrence of software overhead.

Abstract: A method of detecting a synchronization switching pulse using a power detector in a time division duplexing (TDD) system includes receiving an input signal, detecting a power level associated with the input signal using a digital power meter, and determining a configuration associated with the input signal. Abstract: There is provided a generation device, an identification information generation method, a reproduction device, and an image generation method capable of easily acquiring a region with a margin and a region with no margin. An identification information generation unit generates margin identification information for identifying that a celestial sphere image includes a region with a margin. A client that uses a margin can easily acquire a region including the margin and a client that does not use a margin can easily acquire a region including no margin. The present technology can be applied to a case in which a celestial sphere image is transmitted from a server and is received and reproduced on a client side.
Abstract: An improved video streaming method and system that reduces video stream playback dropouts when video data flow from a server is degraded or interrupted. Two adaptive bitrate video streams of the content are operated in parallel with video quality that can be adjusted independently. The first stream receives data blocks at a rate generally concurrent with the video playback. The second stream receives data blocks in advance of the playback point and these blocks are buffered. The best available block is used during playback. Buffered second stream blocks can be used to continue playback when the network connection is compromised or interrupted.

Abstract: Novel tools and techniques are provided for implementing media content streaming or playback, and, more particularly, for implementing media stream synchronization. In some embodiments, a synchronization system might receive a first signal that is output from a first device, which receives an original video signal from a video source and outputs a first video signal. The synchronization system might analyze the first signal to determine a first frame buffer delay, generate a delay adjustment signal based on such determination, and send the delay adjustment signal to a frame buffer delay device. The frame buffer delay device and the first device might concurrently receive the original video signal from the video source. The first delay adjustment signal causes the frame buffer delay device to apply the first frame buffer delay to the original video signal to produce a second video signal that is synchronized with the first video signal.

Abstract: The disclosed embodiments relate to a technique that uses a modified timing signal to reduce self-induced voltage noise in a synchronous system. During a transient period associated with a deterministic event in the synchronous system, the technique uses a modified timing signal generated based on a normal timing signal as a timing signal for the synchronous system. Outside of the transient period, the technique uses the normal timing as the timing signal for the synchronous system. In some embodiments, the modified timing signal is generated by skipping a pattern of clock transitions in the normal timing signal.

Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for selecting frames for decode and display during different playback modes of a media player. Prediction dependencies may be estimated among frames from a sample table of a media item identifying dependency state among frames in the media item. The device sends a first audio data packet to an audio player device and sends a first video data packet to a video player device. Abstract: A method and apparatus for variable accuracy inter-picture timing specification for digital video encoding is disclosed. Specifically, the present invention discloses a system that allows the relative timing of nearby video pictures to be encoded in a very efficient manner. In one embodiment, the display time difference between a current video picture and a nearby video picture is determined. The display time difference is then encoded into a digital representation of the video picture. In a preferred embodiment, the nearby video picture is the most recently transmitted stored picture. For coding efficiency, the display time difference may be encoded using a variable length coding system or arithmetic coding. In an alternate embodiment, the display time difference is encoded as a power of two to reduce the number of bits transmitted.

Abstract: A method for decoding and reconstructing a QM associated with a picture, wherein the method comprises acquiring at least one reference QM and at least one weighting factor associated with the reference QM, wherein the reference QM is a previously decoded QM, and computing a predicted matrix using the reference QM and the weighting factor associated with the reference QM, wherein the predicted matrix is used to reconstruct the QM. In another embodiment, a method for encoding a QM associated with a picture, wherein the method comprises acquiring a first QM reference and a second QM reference, acquiring a first weighting factor that corresponds to the first QM reference and a second weighting factor that corresponds to the second QM reference, obtaining the predicted QM using the first QM reference, the second QM reference, the first weighting factor, and the second weighting factor.

Abstract: The shutter glasses for the display apparatus include a shutter-glasses communication unit which receives a first sync signal from the display apparatus displaying a three-dimensional (3D) image; and a shutter-glasses controller which generates an ON/OFF driving signal for a left-eye lens unit and a right-eye lens unit of the shutter glasses based on the first sync signal, the first sync signal including a pattern, based on which at least one sync pulse is periodically omitted in a second sync signal used in displaying the 3D image according to a frame driving frequency of the 3D image. The shutter-glasses controller generates an ON/OFF driving signal in sync with the first sync signal, so that the ON/OFF driving signal includes the sync pulse in a section corresponding to the omitted sync pulse of the second sync signal according to a time period of the first sync signal.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention are generally directed to a multi-view display system. An embodiment of an apparatus includes a display screen to display multiple views simultaneously, and a controller to control the views presented on the display screen. The apparatus is configurable by the controller to provide multiple view settings, the view settings including a first setting in which the apparatus provides a single view to each viewer of the display screen and a second setting in which the apparatus provides a first view to a first viewer of the display screen and a second view to a second viewer of the display screen. A first filtering element filters views presented to viewers of the display screen such that an intended view is displayed to one or more viewers.

Abstract: A video processing apparatus and a method for detecting a temporal synchronization mismatch between at least a first and a second video stream of a stereoscopic video content are described. An eye blink of a creature that is imaged in the video content is detected. The temporal synchronization mismatch is determined by determination of a temporal offset between the reproduction of an eye blink in the first video stream and the reproduction of said eye blink in the second video stream.
