Chroma Key (e.g., Hue Detector) Patents (Class 348/592)
  • Patent number: 11954764
Abstract: Methods and systems provide for providing a virtual background within a communication session using dynamic chroma key reframing. In one embodiment, a method displays a user interface including at least one video feed corresponding to a participant of the communication session. The method receives a request to enable a selected or provided virtual background using chroma keying. The method then determines a background layer of the video feed. The method also determines edges for the background layer. Next, the method crops and reframes the video feed around the edges of the background layer. The method then removes the background layer from the video feed, and adds the selected or provided virtual background to the background layer of the video feed. Finally, the method displays the video feed within the communication session.

  • Patent number: 7649571
Abstract: An interactive video compositing device includes a chroma-key mixer, video switcher and control circuitry. The chroma-key mixer generates a composite image by combining a real-time image, such as one captured by a video recorder, with a prerecorded video image, such as a movie. The composite image includes the modified real-time image superimposed, or overlaid, onto the prerecorded image. The video switcher automatically selects either the composite image or the prerecorded image to be output to a display. The control circuitry controls the video switcher and other outputted signals based on data file information that corresponds to content of the prerecorded image or media. For example, the data files may contain information relating to the presence (or absence) of a particular character in a movie scene, thus allowing for the output and display, at appropriate times, of the real-time composite image instead of the prerecorded image.

Abstract: A chroma key color determining section is operable to determine a chroma key color in an image of a plurality of input images. A image synthesizing section is operable to overlap the images with each other by switching the images with respect to each pixel based on an output of the chroma key color determining section. The plurality of images are switched by switching all of pixels of the image input to the chroma key color determining section into the chroma key color images.

  • Patent number: 7221724
Abstract: A precision timing generator and an associate method provide a precise clock signal based on a reference clock signal. Using the reference clock signal in a phase locked loop or delay locked loop, a number of clock signals of equal frequency are generated separated consecutively by a known phase. Two of these clock signals of consecutive phases are selected for interpolation for higher precision according to predetermined weights. The resulting interpolated clock signal has a phase offset that is intermediate between the selected clock signals in proportion to the predetermined weights. In one implementation, a second interpolated clock signal is created by selecting and weighting a second group of clock signals using independent selection and weights. The two interpolated clock signals are then combined by logic operations to provide a precise clock signal of predetermined duty cycle and phase.

  • Patent number: 7184047
Abstract: Apparatus for generating computer models of individuals is provided comprising a booth (1) that is connected to a server (2) via the Internet (3). Image data of an individual is captured using the booth (1) and a computer model corresponding to the individual is then generated by comparing the captured image data relative to a stored generic model. Data representative of a generated model is then transmitted to the server (2) where it is stored. Stored data can then be retrieved via the Internet using a personal computer (4) having application software stored therein. The application software on the personal computer (4) can then utilise the data to create graphic representations of an individual in any one of a number of poses.
